I've had this optic for about 2 years now. My experience with Vortex is pretty good. There are certainly better optics out there but for the money, warranty, and reputation it's hard to go anywhere else. However, Burris also makes good optics for the money. I've used a lot of high end optics in the past (Schmidt & Bender, Leupold, EoTech, etc..) but now that the funds are coming out of my pocket, the few sacrifices in quality are worth the price difference for my purposes.

$263 doesn't seem like that great of a price on this anymore, seeing as just last week I bought the 1-8x version of this for $269.

Yep...the 1x8 was $269 with a free vortex mount.

Palmetto State Armory had the super price. I haven't had a chance to sight it in yet.

Watch eBay as they have the as low as$224 shipped. I just picked one up last month. Although I think I prefer my 1-6 primary arms as like the recticle better.

I've had 2 of these. The first one was so optically poor that I sold it, figuring it was a fluke. I purchased another one and it was just as bad. Horrid fish eye at low magnification and terrible clarity (compared to several other sub $300 scopes). The massive reticle is also bad for any sort of precision, I can get tighter groups using a 2moa red dot. I really want to like Vortex optics, but they just optically suck compared to other mid tier choices. After owning 4 Vortex scopes in total, I wont buy another.

Primary arms has better optical quality and are comparatively priced.

$263.99... plus $20 shipping at the lowest. The code to double the member discount doesn't include free shipping, or am I missing something?

Anyone that wears glasses bought this? I do and I can't get a clear view through it, always a little out of focus. I'm really near-sighted. If I take off the glasses, the view is a little more clear but then the reticle is fuzzy.

$20 shipping. How big is the scope ? Where are not talking about the Hubble telescope to charge that much.

To SG. I'm not going renew my membership. ( Up to $39 this year )

283 looks good to me, next best i find is 329. Any comments on this for a 300 blackout?

This scope has enabled Peshmerganor to implant extra eye sockets on many ISIS terrorists' heads. Vortex has sent him optics to fight ISIS. Check out his instagram and this Leveleak video.

Vortex has done more to combat ISIS then current POTUS.

The way the free shipping works on this particular deal for me had to involve a membership RENEWAL. The renewal offers an additional membership discount as well as free shipping. It works out to being $263 shipped plus the next year for free. ($263 for scope and membership OTD).

I don't think I've ever seen this below $265 without involving a membership RENEWAL. Having said that, the scope is worth the money as far as quality goes.

How are you getting free shipping without a free shipping coupon? $20.00 for the shipping throws everything off.

I don't think he is getting free shipping. I was under the impression that it was $263.99 shipped, so I signed up for the membership to get that price but it looks like it's just the optic for $263.99, then shipping on top of that bringing it to $284.97 (with package protection) I'm kind of disappointed but oh well.

I got it down to 284 using sk code as member??? Still a great deal but am I missing something?

I have never been able to get this price either. Got it to $287 last night but had to sign in as nonmember. If I do member pricing its $10 more because I don't get the 20% new customer price. Either way gonna pick it up as I have a new AR calling it's name:)

I own this optic. It works great. I have it on a Steyr AUG in 223 mounted with a Nikon m-223 mount. I have put about 100 rounds down range at 100 Yards and it has held zero. The glass is clear and the red dot is bright. I like the markings. It makes it easy to find when changing targets. I own quite a few mid level red dots and scopes but for the price this one is my new go to for best of both worlds sight. This is a really good deal so I think I may order one of these as a backup.

Coupon code says its not valid for this item when its in my cart. Every time these show up I can only get it for 296.99. If someone can explain how to get it for the $263 I would order one.

Ultra high shipping & taxes nuke this deal back to the stone age. I hate all these coupons, card rewards, double-dealing discount masquerading promos. Have to shop elsewhere 95% of the time.

I really like mine but it is a bit heavy IMO... I guess that may mean it is built well.. But certainly too heavy for a SHTF/home defense rifle. Still glad I got it. Will be using it on a quick detach AK mount that I got modified for better eye relief. Swapping between a few Vepr's depending on mood. ;)

Even at 296.99 and free shipping it was a good deal for me, saved me $25 dollars. I almost picked this up from amazon, but cancelled and grab one from SG.

I just signed up for the SG club with the hopes I can replicate this deal. I have low hopes. Lowest I can get so far is $284.97. SK1611 supposedly "expired 12/2/2015" when I tried 12/23/15 at 22:20 EST. Any luck with SK1611 after this?

You can use the coupon for the double discount, but since you just became a member, the membership renewal discount won't apply. I think that's what's happening.

Deal finally worked for me, I had to turn off auto renew to get the 2 screen offer. Using a coupon, the double code, the renewal double on the double code, it all worked. I ended up picking up a scope: shipped this morning.

stick with Leupold- made in 'Murica! you guys sound like a bunch of coupon-clipping soccer moms when you're talking about Sportsmans Club

Leupolds aren't the end all be all my friend.

About a week ago I had a Leupold Ar Mod1/Firedot snag my pants pocket and the turret came completely off the scope. Never saw the inside of a Leupold before, but still ridiculous.

Not something you'd expect from a Leupold, but it is what it is.

I had the same problem this morning, a $13.01 difference, I spoke with CS, said I have a copy of the order confirmation page to prove they have a bug. They confirmed they are taking it up with their webmaster, and honored the price in the shopping cart. Not sure if they will do that for others, but I had proof and was nice when I mentioned the discrepancy.
