The profit margins must be insanely high on trigger packs.

There is no way possible there is even $75 in the development, manufacturing, and materials in one of these...of any brand.

Velocity has a MAP price and it can’t be sold for less

Wrong.

It cannot be advertised for less. I can be sold for less. It happens every single day on many items.

Anyone put this in a dedicated 9mm lower yet? If so were there reset issues? Safety still function properly? Run full auto intermittently?

Mine is definitely on the soft side. Picked up the Rise trigger from granite ridge for $95 shipped. Just installed the Rise trigger on a 7.62x39. If I closed my eyes the triggers feel identical except the ever so slight difference in stiffness.

Same shit, retail price post. Might as well block it this go round. It's gun.deals, not gun.store. quit being a cheap fuck and spend some money on marketing and distribution.

Own two of these. Outstanding triggers but second one I bought was out of adjustment from factory

This is an excellent trigger. Can't say enough good about it. Crisp and clear. Breaks like a glass rod. 3 LBS every time. And at this price it half of the cost of many other excellent drop in AR triggers.
Put this in a PSA AR 10 build.
I have now bought 2 of these. One for me and one for my dad.

Didn't mossberg loose their royalty on these? They need to drop the price somewhere around that royalty before I will literally pull the trigger.

Why does this keep getting posted? It has been the same price for 2 years. Drop it to $99.99.

Edit, this comment was made when it was the trigger only.

Fyi on long term reliability compared to my CMC on another M4. This Velocity has 3,120 rounds thru it and still works flawlessly. My CMC has 1970 rounds thru it flawlessly as well. Just my experience

I replaced my RRA 2-stage trigger that I got in a LPK with this trigger. Shot it this weekend and was amazed at the difference. This is a great trigger!

Range review: Bought two of these about 1 year ago. They compare very favorable against my CMC and BRO triggers. I have one installed on a 7.5" SBR 5.56 and the other on a 16" AR308 and they both run flawlessly.

There are two issues with these triggers:
1) After shooting for long sessions the screws that tighten the pins come loose, even with RED thread locker, ended up installing no-walk pins (additional cost). 2)I know many have complained, but this to me is not an issue: There is another screw that loosens up a bit an the trigger becomes extremely sensitive, with enough practice you will empty mags at full auto rates. This second issue has gotten me in trouble at the Nazi range where they only allow 1 shot every 3 seconds, but anywhere else it could put a huge smile on your face. If your rifle is your hunting gun or a defensive gun I would advise that you tighten the loose screw.

The "loose" trigger averages a 2.8# pull. There is no perceivable take-up or creep, and the reset is as nice as it gets for this price point. For $134 I would buy this again before another CMC or another BRO trigger.

Geissele triggers dont have screws that come loose. I would not want to mess with these after reading your comment. I am really happy that i read it first before buying because that would have been frustrating. Thanks

Change the price back to $120 shipped like it was and Ill buy another one or two.

Agreed. At $134'ish it is only a few dollars off what I just picked up another CMC trigger for ($138 from Sportsmans Guide with 15% extra off and free shipping).

Don't get me wrong, I've bought a few of these Velos and I like them. But for $5 more I'll pick up a CMC every time.

I don't have mine yet, but you can buy a 3.5lb Fallout drop in trigger on ebay for $80 plus $4.34 shipping if you buy two.

Gary,

Those are Black Rain Ordinance triggers, I bought one from JoeBob Outfitters not long ago to kick it's tires. It arrived and installed in one of my plinker AR's.

Not as good as what I was using, but still a nice trigger for roughly $100. Mine averaged a hair over 4# and the only caveat is I felt compelled to use KNS anti walk pins, which I prefer to not use, but I had one in my spare parts and used it on the Black Rain trigger.

One of my neighbor's friends asked me to find a affordable 3.5# drop in that's not a POS.

Almost done playing with it, but it's not replacing my TTU drop in trigger any time soon. Still a good bargain for sure, as is the Velocity trigger.

Why Black Rain Ordinance millet off their logo and liquidated them is anyone's guess. I saw no defects in function nor finish sans the removed logo.

PS, I've tried this Velocity drop in trigger as well. Another half decent bang for the buck. The one I tried was dead on 3#

Bought 2 of these- Love 'em. Bump fires like a mo-fo if that's what you're in to. Just buy some KNS retaining pins now- the pressure set-screws intended to hold these firmly in place are a little questionable- puts too much pressure on the safety select barrel for my liking. (used in 2 different lowers- one Poly from TNArmsco and another from Aero precison <- fit better)

Just get a Geissele and never look back.

One of the biggest gun buying mistakes I've ever made was to buy a Wilson Combat TTU trigger.
Once you buy one, you'll want them for all your AR's. Geissele's are great as well for your 2 stage needs.

..both will lighten your bank account.

I was going to order 1, but got 2x RRA 2stage varmint (3.5lb) for the same price, off the RRA site. I can rearrange those into other rifles, and free up my CMC and ALG for faster/less precise builds.

Ordered this a week ago and installed it today. Installation was as straight forward as one might imagine. Obviously I can't speak to the durability or long term maintenance of a product this new to me. That said, I'm highly impressed with the initial feel of this trigger. I replaced a respectable 5 lb. trigger with this piece and didn't expect such a noticable improvement. Checked it a dozen or so times with a trigger pull gauge it broke repeatedly between 3.2 & 3.5 lbs. The break was crisp with no perceptible take up or creep and with nice short over travel. The fit and finish of this product were excellent. If the cost of a drop in has held you back from buying one in the past, this might be worth a look. I believe this to be a reasonably good value. GotAmmo did a good job and had this product to me in 6 days. I'll report further once I've visited the range. Even the best initial impressions can change if it doesn't go bang when you want it to and only when you want it to.

I bought this 3 weeks ago for $10 more...figures that it would be cheaper after I purchased! Installed in a home built LR308. Works great and very crisp break. My first drop in trigger and I love it.

I live in the Phx area, and love to buy local when I can (Young Manufacturing, Galco, etc), but a 'new' design over a proven Geissele @ about the same price isn't going to sway me...yet.
I guess I'll read more reviews, or wait for a gen2 maybe???

Geissele? This is similar to the Timney design. Timney and Velocity are both located in Phoenix. I heard the owner of Velocity used to work at Timney. Doesn't mean it's true, just what I heard.

I got mine in the other day and put it in my AR...what an incredible product! Couldn't be happier or more impressed. The installation was a breeze and once I tightened up the set screws on the bottom of the trigger this thing was rock solid and no creep. It passed every safety check and felt great. I can't wait to get my AR out to the range and run rounds through it. If you are in the market or on the fence rest assured the velocity trigger will meet and exceed your needs.

I would give it a try at the original $120 shipped, but as others have said, too many other better, proven options at $130 and up. The double-fire reports are of real concern.

There are simple adjustments that fix this according to other posts below.

got my geissele g2s and cmc flat for cheaper. the cmc came with anti walk pins. cant see the appeal in paying more for this.

Please let me know where you got the CMC flat trigger for cheaper. I'd like to buy one.

not going to get a CMC cheaper that this now-days, that's a pipe dream. Maybe a couple years ago.

Yeah, thats upsetting the price continues to increase. This is still entirely too new of a product for all that, especially with the potentially serious malfunctions that have been reported!
Nonetheless, I'm still happy I got mine at a decent price and excited to try it out. I too will report back with poundage and a range report.

Update on mine (with the very light {sub 3#} pull):

I took the Velocity trigger to the range today and it is not resetting correctly. Each trigger pull is double firing. Once on the trigger pull, again on the trigger release. It is engaging the disconnect correctly, however, when releasing it is not engaging the sear to stop the hammer.

Double shots each trigger pull, and several 4 and 6 shot strings. The RSO was not a happy camper as he thought I was shooting full-auto. ;)

EDIT: Gotammo emailed and gave me a fix. Little screw between the hammer and disconnect. Tried a few adjustments and 1/4 turn clockwise seems to have solved the issue (at least at the workbench). Also brought the pull weight up ~1/2 lb, now averaging ~3.5# on an average of 10 pulls on the scale.

Am I tripping or did these first show up at $119.99 then again at $129.99 and now at $139.99? Is the dealer raising prices because there selling good?

0 votes
0 votes

No you're not trippin. I'd say they're selling good so retailer is raising price. Google is your friend. And for $149.xx plus a couple bucks shipping you can get the CMC which comes with a nice set of anti-walk pins. So there's an upper price limit on this item, so it would seem to me. I think at this price point ($140 shipped) this would be top end for this product shipped. It needs to settle back down to a lower price point.

Agree wholeheartedly, Angry Bill. While this trigger has been surprisingly nice, it is creeping into the range where I can get a discounted CMC trigger (Primary Arms sale, SPG). I tried one out due to the price point, but having used CMCs for years, I can say with certainty that at a similar price point I will pick the CMC.

The G2S is a different trigger but it's also available for this price too.

Hey, if you are really lucky you can grab a G2S when AIM sells them for $109. Blue moon between times they have them in stock, but I've grabbed two last year.

I think it was around August of last year when they had their last 'in stock' batch.

Yes, to all. Maybe the OEM is going up. Tactical Shit has these with a different coating for $180. It also included s&h halfway through those changes.

I thought that looked very similar. The housing is slightly different, but the hammer looks identical.

Average of 10 pulls on the trigger pull scale: 2.8#
High: 3.2#
Low: 2.6#

Compares very favorably against my CMC 3.5# units. I can't feel any creep at all. Looking forward to seeing how this holds up over a case of ammo and to see how it affect pull weight, etc.

That pull weight is seriously low though.

Strange, most of us are getting High 3's and even low 4's. I wonder why the discrepancy....

1 vote

Using a Wheeler analog pull scale. Measured at the middle of the 'bow' of the trigger. Measuring further down the trigger brings back a lower pull weight of about 2.5#.

The scale is right on target with my CMC triggers (both 3.5 and 4.5 models), my two PoFs, my Geissele's (G2S and SSA-E's), and all of my RRANM2S are all right around 4.5# (except one that measures under 3#, another odd sample).

The intent was not in any way to 'brag', only to report on my results since they came back different that what others had been seeing in their own testing. Has anyone tried a lubricant on theirs yet? I pre-lube mine before installation, but the NP3 coating is pretty slick. I doubt the TW25B would make that much of a difference in this application.

I am running TW25B Mil-Comm grease on the trigger (which may or may not account for some lowering of weight), but it felt very light to begin with. Might be a far-sigma variant. I had planned on swapping it with one of the POF's on my range loaner gun, but it is lighter than I want to run on something I'd be putting into a novice's hands. I'll be moving it to my DPMS pattern AR10.
