Description
The XTR-12 from UTAS is a semi-automatic shotgun with a heat-treated barrel and a threaded muzzle to accept multi chokes. It features a gas operated/rotating bolt system, an 4140 steel body and barrel with a Cerakote black finish. This 12 gauge has aluminum receivers with a flattop upper for a monolithic, optic-ready top rail. The handguard features integrated Picatinny quad rail sections for iron sights and optics. It has a five-position black synthetic telescopic stock with a recoil pad and an OAL of 39.2". The XTR-12 includes one, 5-round magazine. Please note: optics and muzzle devices are not included. This model has a black finish on the receiver and handguard with a black synthetic pistol grip with storage.

Does anyone know a place to buy just an upper of this? I've got a DPMS .308 already and apparently you can just use the upper on the DPMS lower.
I bet this is fun to shoot (and rough on the shoulder). How hard are extra mags (or higher cap mags) to get ahold of for this?
Wouldn't be legal for turkey hunting here in NH though, unless you can somehow plug the mag so it won't load more than 3.
Also no mention of the choke-type to use in this (mossberg/invector, benelli, rem-choke, invector-plus?)
Not sure about the chokes. You can use this for turkey hunting without the mag - single load the gun. Alternatively, plugging the magazine should be a simple affair. Just glue a piece of a plastic ruler to the bottom of the follower. Atlanticarmory.com sells extra mags, 5 and 10 (or 7) shell capacity. As far as recoil goes, the reviews I've seen indicate that the recoil is manageable and is on par with most semi-autos.
Have one ...dont waste your money. Very" bolt fragile" and ammo pocket. The action binds up and bends the cam pin. The company doesn't currently have these on hand so I'm stuck with a"pretty" non- working weapon after only firing it 18 x.( by the way it jammed 6x on two different kinds of high brass ammo) They should have used/developed the bolt to take ar10 or ar15 cam pins instead of using proprietary pins half the diameter.
