At this price, these could be security guard turn-in guns that are beat up cosmetically, but probably in good mechanical shape. I bought a heavy barrel Model 10 like this from Buds years ago for just under $200 and that was what I got. The lockup showed the gun had been shot a bunch, and there was actuallt some flame cutting on the top strap, but it shoots fantastic. I had it parkerized and it wears Hogue nylon grips. It's a good camp gun, but I wouldn't buy another one. Better to get a new Taurus for $325 and call it a day.

Cue the Taurus haters in 3, 2, 1....

Depending on where you live, you may have tax, shipping, and an FFL fee in addition to the cost of the gun. If you don’t have a classic double action revolver, $300 or so is the minimum price of entry. I paid $243 all in to get one this spring before things got crazy. 10-5 or 10-7 4” is a good shooting gun, but the most common configuration.
Of course, you may stumble on to a one-owner in great shape for the same price as one of these well-used examples, but then again, you may look for years and not find anything better.
