Good price for what they are.
But they are Not the Fat 50’s I was hoping they would be, then again they would probably be $12.99 or so. Finally wrote down measurements of these two different ones on-a post it note for future reference.

I bought 10 of them. Some of them are pretty shotty. It’s not uncommon to find them with 1/2” of dirt and rust in the bottom. You’ll need a rubber mallet to take the dents out of the metal, a wire brush attachment for your drill to get off the spray paint globs and rust and of course some spray paint. Most of them need refinished at minimum. Still they are decent for the price. I’d give it three out of five stars. Just don’t be expecting anything nice.

Solid deal right now at $8 apiece, if you can use them. Best online price I've seen since Lucky Gunner had them for around $6 used, back in early 2020.

Used doesn't bother me, as long as the seals are intact. I take them and clean them with Dawn, leave 'em out in the sun to dry, then hit the seals with silicon spray.
These milspec cans are SO much better than plastic. We had a bad flood after a tropical storm a few years ago, and I saw firsthand- the steel cans stayed waterproof, everything was dry inside. Friend of mine got 7 ft of water in his house, had to gut everything. A foot of mud, the refrigerator had floated and fell over... a nightmare. He had a few cans, we took them outside and opened them- still clean and dry inside.
I use them for ammo storage, and also for things like important papers. Load them up when it's warm and dry, and they will protect whatever you put in them.

Ordered three of these a couple weeks ago, the insides were perfect, good seal, one had a little surface rust on the top of the lid. Totally recommend.

Just got my 4. Seems they have the correct size shipping box now as they fit just right, last ones I ordered, 4 of them you could have fit 6 more in the shipping box and they didn't include packing so they banged around but fortunately I don't' care about minor dents. These have no dents and mine have no rust but two have extra paint and markings, which comes off fairly easy if you want all OD cans, so if you want perfect boxes with no extra markings or rust you better off buying someplace in person as these are as stated used. Paint and scratches and rust don't bother me as long as the seal is intact which these are. These are the real deal mil-surp heaver then the Chinese knock-off being sold new. For this price I will probably get more before they get into the serious damaged ones.

Just a note if you want to see the cans I got check the review on SG I posted pictures of the cans I got and that the extra paint will come off fairly easy if it bothers you.

Just received 5. They are all in good shape. Little dirty, but they are "used"! WTF do you expect for used Mil ammo can?!

Bought over 20 for me and friends and about a 1/3 had light wipe off rust on the lids, like something rusted from above from being stacked and just settled on the surface of the tops of the lids, but the insides of all were clean and sealed.....really a good deal for a 50 caliber can at a hair over $7 and free shipping

I've had some horrible luck with .50 cal. ammo cans from Sportsman's Guide, but I've also received some decent ones from them. One thing that really bugs me is that they never seem to send newer cans from within the past couple years. The ones they send are always from 2007-2012, give or take a year or two. It makes me wonder where in the heck they even find ammo cans that old. They're certainly not worth the $17.99 that they usually sell them for.

Bought 14 for about $100 shipped. Most were as you described but 4 had water inside to the extent that you could hear it slosh around when you shook the can. Those were obviously rusted very bad inside. One had so much sand inside the seal was not salvageable. Sending 5 of the 14 back as unusable. Hit or miss I suppose.

Got 5 cans today. Good condition with strong seals sensed upon opening each one. Everything works right and they feel solid. The interiors are really clean. I do show light, wipe away kind of, rust on little areas of the tops likely from stacking in a humid area is my guess. I think simple wipe, a bit of solvent cleaning and hit with a quick pass of clear coat will resolve that issue. Buy with confidence.

I have ordered these two times. The first one was in good condition. The last time I ordered one (two weeks ago) it had so much rust on it, it looked completly red, not green. I cleaned it off with some light oil and all the corners and edges, top and bottom, had deep rust eaten into the metal, including the inside. It also had spray paint of different light and dark greenish colors and black permanent marker writing on it that's said "FULL" on the top. Needless to say, very disappointed. Seems like it's luck of the draw and I'm not willing to gamble on a decent one again. Especially when you can buy new ones for close to the same price, if you look a little bit.

These are a good value, but just a warning, most of them will come with surface rust. I ordered 20 of them and 19/20 were rusted.
