Try some TULAMMO, manufactured at the Tula Cartridge works in Russia. Founded in 1880, Tula Cartridge Works is one of the most significant producers of small-arms ammunition in the world. Over the past several years the factory launched production of a wide variety of commercial products for training, self-defense, and hunting. Such ammunition is marketed Worldwide under the trademark TULAMMO. The cartridge .223 REM (5.56×45) is used for sporting and hunting shooting through bolt-action and semi-automatic rifles and carbines. The cartridge keeps its qualities under various climatic and weather conditions independent of the season and at a temperature from – 20 to + 50 C. TulAmmo is converting from a Bimetal Jacketed projectile to a Zinc Coated projectile. Zinc coating is a chemical method of surface treatment (galvanizing) which gives the bullet jacket a more uniform and consistent protective layer than that of machine-stamped bimetal bullet jackets. Thanks to this, cartridges with zinc-coated bullets provide up to 10-15% better shooting accuracy than cartridges with bimetal bullets.

We are talking about Lucky Gunner? I’ve had nothing but success. On the off chance they screw up it’s made right no ?s asked. Plus S&H is cheap. At least to my state! LG is GTG!

I'd like to spread the word that Russian ammo will kill your barrel. The problem is not the casing, it's about the bullet itself. It's not copper only, it's a steel copper blend that is much harsher on your barrel. If you shoot a lot, you'll have a smooth bore in a jiffy. If you're into accuracy, expect it to diminish gradually if you use any Russian ammo. There's the best article on Ammo I could find. I will never again buy Russian ammo. http://www.luckygunner.com/labs/brass-vs-steel-cased-ammo/...

Not sure that barrel wear at 5000 rounds can be considered "in a jiffy", but the article is a real eye opener for .223 in an AR. It might be premature to extrapolate the results here to all calibers and all platforms. Having said that, thank you for sharing this article. Definitely a big thumbs up to you!

If you shoot 'a lot' was the key phrase. :-) I have shooting buddies that go through thousands a month... for them, it's 'in a jiffy' for sure. It may be a lifetime for me, but I'm so pedantic about my guns that I do not want to possibly ruin their performance with shoddy ammo.

If you can afford to shoot 5,000+ rounds "in a jiffy" you can afford to replace the barrel.

If you're shooting steel cased bi-metal rounds, you're probably plinking for fun with a range rifle rather than burning through a perfectly tuned match rifle.

You can dispense with the hysteria.

$285 for 1k rounds of the worst .223 ammo you can buy is anything but a deal IMO.

One of the most scumbag companies I have ever dealt with. Would not honor a price that they agreed was correct when I called on the phone to confirm. Sent me 500 rounds instead of 1000. They also were one of the companies that marked up prices and gouged severely during the past year. Complete absolute scum that run this company. DO NOT buy from them.

Cheap deal on ammo, but they wanted $47 for shipping. They can suck it. Keeps it around the 0.35/round price. You can find brass for just as cheap.

ammo being around for a while as low as .26$/rd with .30$/rd stable. Who in this world will pay .35$ and call it a deal?
