I have this sight on one of my carbines. Out in bright sunlight the Amber dot is like a small sun. Almost too bright. Overcast it is still very bright, but not overwhelming like full sunlight can be. The 42mm objective is HUGE so you'll never have an issue with getting your head 'just right'.

Now the downside: These trijicons with the Fiber optics and the Amber reticle/dots suffer from VERY bad washout when shooting from a shaded area (like under a sun cover at the range) out into a fully bright area. Or shooting from inside to outside a window (if you range has such a set up). This is so bad that in many cases you cannot see the dot at all, or it is so washed out that you are taking time to find it. Not really an issue for the range, but if you plan on using this on a SHTF setup, I'd advise against it, or, find one of the green or red dot versions. I've seen both and while they suffer from some washout, the red or green dot is still visible without hunting for it.

Interior lighting can be hit or miss. If you've got decent lighting hitting the fiber you get a good dot. If you are shooting from a darker interior area into a lit hallway, the tritium is just not bright enough and washes out.

In overall poor lighting the dot is decently visible with just the tritium providing illumination.

Price for this deal is pretty decent if you can live with all of the above.
