Bought 20 of these at $6.99 and took them home. Filled a 5 gal bucket with water and held one down underwater for 15 minutes. Removed from water and opened can--there was at least one inch of water IN THIS SO-CALLED "waterproof" can! All you guys crowing about this item had better give each can the "water dunking" test. Or, simply fill one with water, invert it, and watch the water trickle out! The rubber seal is hard as a rock--will not seal properly--ask the Chinaman why he builds junk!

I returned every one back to TSC. JUNK!

Simmer down there, bud. Throw some silicone spray on the rubber and throw a silica packet in the can to reduce moisture. I also just use these 8 dollar cans to store ammo in my garage, not as a boat anchor.

Go pick them up. Even if you have to drive 15 miles buy 10. Def worth the price. MAGA

I ordered 6 cans at $8 now they just dropped the price. Just ordered 10 more haha. The seals we're fine on the 6 I ordered originally. I'll check these 10 new ones a little later today when I pick then up and update this post. MAGA

Ordered a total of 27 of these cans. All the seals are fine. Just rub a small dab of oil on them if you think the seals are hard and let it sit over night wipe off excess and you're done. None of my seals we're hard. MAGA

Like dissolves like. (aka vaseline and rubbers are a bad mix)
Don't lube gasket with oil.
Use silicone spray or white silicone grease.
Use dollar bill to check gasket tightness.

Picked up 3. Not the greatest quality; some rough parts on the inside, but probably worth $6 and some change each + a trip to ts.

These are good cans, I got some the last time they went on sale. BUT....

These seals are VERY firm compared to standard seals, not because they are old and dry or anything, but the rubber seems cheaper. It's hard and doesn't give much when snapped closed. You can tell because there is not an even indentation all the way around the seal, which means it's not pressing into it fully when closed.

I got around this to an extent by coating the seals with CLP, and letting the lids sit (seal-side up) for a day or two. I then wiped up any excess, and CAREFULLY heated one seal up a bit with a heat gun, as evenly as possible. Not hot enough to burn myself on the opposite side of the lid, but warm enough for the seal to give a little under pressure. I snapped the lid closed and put even weight on the lid for about 30 seconds. Obviously, do this part one at a time. This will give a small but much more even indentation in the seal, which the can will naturally push into when closed. I then re-coated with CLP again, exactly the same as before, and waited another day or two before wiping up excess oil.

Bear in mind that the tag says "this product contains lead", so I would heat these up outside or in a very well-ventilated area, if you decide to go that route. Hope this helps.

Agreed. I noticed that the seals are wider but extremely firm.

Just picked up 6 at my local TS. Same price in store. Every store in my area had them in stock, 20+ on the shelf. Deal only goes until December 11th

No free ship like the 8$ ones during Black friday. At least not to my zipcode of Raleigh.

Nice cans. Ordered 2, looked great, went back and got 2 more. This is an excellent deal. Exact same as the real deal minus markings.

I just ordered 6. Came out to a smidge over $50 for in store pick up. Of course they charge $2 tax but oh well. $8.40 per can is a good deal. Don't care if it made in China. Works the same. I'll update on the quality when I scoop them up tomorrow.

Good quality. Just put a small dab of oil around seal and they'll last forever. They are exact same spec as GI 50 cal. Cans. Once and a while PSA offer American made ones for $8-$10. Untill that deal becomes available again I'll keep getting these. Screw paying $15-$20 for USA ones when they are basically the same.

Yeah, PSA does the Blackhawk .50 cans every so often at 12/ $89.99 free shipping. In for 2 on these Tractor Supply cans see how they compare

Yes that was the deal they had. I'll get 12 more of those at that price but these are just as good. MAGA

Ordered two, good quality. Decent welds on the cans I received, locked tight.

Bonus, these are stackable, and appear indistinguishable from real .50 cans.
