I'll spend less money and get a Fail Zero. And to think, I almost bought one of PSA's uppers the other day. They can go screw themselves.
I thought Nickel Boron fad was dying. It flakes too easily. I had NiB on an ar-15 and ar-9 bolt and they flake so easily. Np3 and NIB+ are a different story.
Did you get your NiB from PSA or Toolcraft? They have lifetime warranty on the BCG. Did you contact them and resolve this issue with them?
Sounds like you got a crappy one. I bought a fail zero 4 years ago and have fired thousands of rounds with it. No issue with the NiB. I do lube it even though you don't have to. But not much.
I have the non logo version. It is okay. Doesn't do anything better than a standard milspec BCG other than wipe clean easier.
Not to be a smartA, but that's all the coating is for. To be slicker, ie wipe off easier or move more freely inside the upper. IMO if the BCG works, it works, all you get with the more expensive brands is possibly more longevity/reliability when using your rifle A LOT. Or as with the military, their life depends on the components.
Looking at the past price on this, your being bent over the barrel.
Bought mine like 2 years ago for $90 I think.
You'll have to roll the dice they'll come back down during Trump's second term. $79 would be great right now though!!
I went in for two. Just couldn’t help myself to have quality spares around. Awesome price at $79 on 11/21/18
Fast forward two years later 12/2/20 and these are now almost DOUBLE the price. Sign of the times. Fook 2020!
In for one, just started my first build.
I hope building ARs doesn't become an addiction.
It kind of does. Particularly when the small amounts of money go almost unnoticed over time.
If you would like unskewed, factual information, and buyer reviews on this BCG, I suggest you go to this link. https://www.spicetac.com/toolcraft-nickel-boron-bcg-556/...
I am posting this because many of the negative comment/reviews I've seen are directed at the vender, and not the product.
