OK, even S&W said the rebate card sent out and wait 10-15 biz days, I got my rebate card and activate it.

Now that you mention it, mine has a red star as well. Probably just means inspected since there was never a recall on this model.

Picked mine up today. I certainly didn't need it, but couldn't pass on this deal. The deal only lasted a few days, then was gone. The guys at the FFL couldn't believe the price. The prepaid mastercard makes it a steal. I agree with the comment about covered in dirty oil. Easy fix, though. Mine had the red star on the barcode indicating it had been inspected and/or repaired for recall.

Got mine too, great for trigger and the barrel. Will clean it tonight.

Just picked mine up. Nice gun. Threw on my only spare scope (Bushnell Bone Collector 600 DOA) and zeroed it in at 100 yards with a laser.

I don’t know what they oil up the barrel with but I wiped it down with Rem-Oil wipes and it looked like I was wiping off dirty motor oil. All clean now though.

Can’t wait to shoot some targets! Awesome rifle for $160 total after shipping, FFL, and $75 rebate.

I clean with hoppe's 9 and yes it's pretty dirty inside the barrel.

And my FFL only charges $10 lol.
$150 for a nice $400 hunting rifle

Yeah thanks for giving me a downvote for posting about the recall on the Compass, jackass. If you check the link I posted, it doesn’t give any info and says, “more information soon”.
Glad you’re a better Google-holic than me. Didn’t realize I was supposed to go research for everyone too lazy to do so.

Maybe this made by a mistake since they put downvoter in front....

I did put a voodoo (vdi) brake on it. Took out 73% of the recoil.

How about the accuracy after Brake?

The safety recall is for compass made prior to sep 16th 2016!

Also, for those of you with a Compass, look on the www.tcarms.com... website. There is a safety recall.

Sportsmansguide is ALWAYS advertising an item and when you go to buy it they switch the price!! I wouldn’t order a damn thing from this piece of shit company!!

Did you put a muzzle brake on your 308 compass?

As far as the difference between Compass and Venture (for the 270Win):
Compass=22” barrel
Venture=24” barrel
Compass=5+1 capacity
Venture=3+1 capacity
Compass=Threaded barrel
Venture = non-threaded

Venture has a much better stock and longer barrel but lacks the extra capacity and threaded barrel

I think they have the same trigger. Both adjustable 3.5-5 lbs

I saw trigger job on both compass and Venture and did that on my compass, looks like different trigger mechanism.

Oh, another different is the safe!

Well glad I jumped on this deal. Ordered last night already got tracking

haha, me too!

I have a compass 308, is there different between compass and venture?

I know at least the trigger is different, and Venture come without thread.
But Venture's MSRP is expensive than compass

Anything else?

Yes, and finally I did not fire on a 6.5 Creed with scope for $273 and pickup 270 on sprotsman.

These are decent guns (compass and venture)for the money, but as far as sportsmansguide goes, well I wouldn’t order from them if it was marked down to $100...back when cheaper then dirt did that shit with the ammo, sportsmansguide always did the exact same thing to me on 2 different orders..

Like I said kygunco has a smoking deal on THE COMPASS, which I prefer, I didn’t say they had a deal on the venture. Might want to read closely before replying

I see. It still has it listed on their sales page for the $214....but when you click on it, it comes up to $285...I’d go with the compass anyways...have 2 of those in .308 and 7mm-08 and they shoot almost as good as my sakos...for the money you can’t beat them...kygunco.com has a smoking deal on the compass right now and all T/c (s&w) rebates are G2G...and no it’s not military only, just takes about 5 weeks to get them.

I’ve ordered 2 in the past year and just printed out a copy of the email receipt and got both rebates within 5 weeks...doesn’t take 3 minutes to fill out the rebate form...although one of the rebate checks came without an envelope...the check had my name and address on one side and the check on the other side with my name. That was the only part kind of messed up

Print out the email receipt. It’s not that hard to figure out.

So how does everyone expect to claim this rebate without an actual cash register receipt to copy and send in with it? which it clearly says it needs. Please check back in and let us all know when your rebates show up. Companies do this crap all the time.If they really wanted to give you money off, they would've just lowered the price.....

You don’t need an actual receipt. Just take a picture of the printed one that comes in the box.

There is nothing to do with military only on this. I just filled out the rebate form yesterday so I can assure this is G2G.

That’s actually a smoking deal for this, especially after the rebate.
Can anyone confirm that it’s actually $75? The rebate page says $25 for an Impact muzzleloader, $75 for Compass, and “up to $75” for other models.

Not really sure if I need a .270, debating it... Already have a .223 and .30-06, so what would I use a .270 on??

Rebate is for military only. Look on the T/C website.
