Taurus TX22 22LR 16+1 BK/BK 4" Threaded Barrel
Engineered to deliver best-in-class accuracy and reliability, this rimfire polymer sporting pistol shoots and feels every bit like a custom-tuned competition model without any costly upgrades or modifications. From the short, smooth pull of its precision-designed Taurus Pittman Trigger System (PTS) to the built-in comfort of its ergonomic grip, the TX22 is one performance-driven full size that’s ready to race. Right out of the box.
Not only is the TX22's fire control system engineered for smooth and comfortable operation, the other side of the equation is addressed once the firing pin strikes the cartridge case rim. The grip geometry combines with an optimized slide weight to deliver virtually no recoil, furthering the TX22's fast-action, quick-sight-acquisition performance so desired for a competitive-level handgun or for rapid-fire target practice.

I have the competition version too. I can consistently hit my 10" steel plates at 100 & 125 yards with the Riton MPRD red dot mounted on it. You are right, the trigger is fantastic and this is my current favorite 22LR handgun. I take it down to the range every time.
I've got a couple super reliable and accurate Glocks, a really cool CZ 75 that has the most smooth and amazing trigger in single action mode, and this. This is one of the funnest pistols I've ever shot, with great ergos, almost no recoil and crazy point and shoot accuracy within 25 yards. You won't be sorry with this purchase.
Shot 400 flawless rounds through this gun yesterday. The ergos and trigger are stellar. Do not regret my purchase. The least finicky .22 pistol I've ever owned.
Got mine for $289 thru a shop out in TX a few weeks back. Add in shipping and FFL transfer fees = $344 before tax. OTD price came to about $375. Is it worth it? Heck yes in my book, especially when all the LGS’s around me barely have any guns to sell during this crazy time. Newsflash - It’s not going to get any easier for the gun community in the foreseeable future, especially when there are these lunatics out there shooting up innocent people. And TBH, I don’t see 45 coming back. I’m hoping we get lucky and get a new non-bigoted conservative back in 2024.
those who say they are "waiting" for prices to be under $200 for this pistol will be pushing up daisy's before that happens. These are very good .22 pistols and are true striker fired not blowback designs making them much more reliable and a pleasure to shoot.
Theres no chance these will go down to $175 as some have commented. True they are a bit on the high side due to being fairly new to the market, the current political situation and the stupid ass people "panic buying" guns and ammo, but will probably level out around $275ish. Still worth the money. I do wish they made or make an optics ready model. We will see. Also I can personally attest that Taurus has EXCELLENT lifetime warranty and service. Id almost say the best in the business. This is from my own personal experience.
Your day has come! It's now $279ish:-)
I agree about Taurus being a soild company. I have the Taurus PT-111 and am happy with it. I just pulled the trigger on this deal but I was on the fence about buying the optic ready model. You can find that model here. https://www.sportsmansoutdoorsuperstore.com/products2.cfm/ID/257263... For $120.00 more you get 3 mags, optics ready with mounting plate and a threaded bull barrel. At the current state of affairs I think both of these are good deals at this time.
Waiting for it to be below $200. And it isn't a disservice especially when I've seen them posted for $400, even this ad at $300+ we all know what the deal is as soon as Trumps back in and people stop acting like retards especially about covid this firearm will be glad to be sold at under $200
Anyone waiting for these to hit $175 is both dreaming and doing themselves a serious disservice. I picked mine up last year for $240 (pre-pandemic) and it’s gotta be one of the most fun pistols I own. Just under 5000 rounds down the pipe and it’s way better than it has any business being. You won’t find a single TX owner that isn’t smitten. Seriously just send it ~ it’s worth spending the extra 20-30 bucks in the middle of a pandemic for the fun you’re gonna have with it.
I bought two I loved it so much. Kids would fight over it at the range. Paid $250 and $275 but you can find it at bimart for $250 right now if your lucky to have one close.
Tx-22 is an absolute pleasure to plink with, excellent shape of the grip, outstanding trigger, adjustable rear sight, 16 round mags that you can find for under $20, get you one, why wait? Tomorrow is not guaranteed to anyone.
* also, it is Not ammo sensitive or picky, it shoots just about any 22 ammo, hi-velocity, standard velocity or even some subsonic rounds!
I have one and love it. If you do pick one up, do yourself a favor and get a stainless steel recoil assembly from Lakeline LLC. The assembly that comes with the tx22 is plastic and wears easily, not to mention lakeline's has a better spring tension (ime).
Its a lifetime warranty from taurus, there is no need
I got mine on sale last year for $229.00 I'm not a particular Taurus fan but lets give credit where its due. Its reliable, good sights, good trigger, holds 16 rounds and shoots to point of aim. Hard to ask for much more at the price. And no we are not going to see prices go down a lot more given the current crisis.
This a great value for $249, which it usually goes for. Panic buying or low inventory might be creating prices higher than that.
This Taurus and the Ruger Wrangler are perfect examples of pistols to wait on. As much as I want that Tuarus (there better than G44!!) I can wait till there $200 or less shipped
The supply chains are currently busted, but there's chance that we could see significant surplus when the panic buying ends and we start seeing buyers remorse, with "used' but unfired guns hitting the market. Especially from new owners. Ammo not so much.
I agree about we're far from the apex, especially financially. Personally I think it's been a large overreaction considering Sweden. Not that I think theirs is the absolute best approach, but our lockdowns don't seem to be doing shit other than sending us towards a new depression.
You might be waiting awhile. I don't believe supply chains and prices are going to snap back to normal for any product, let alone guns, anytime this year. Maybe even longer. One in five US workers have filed for unemployment benefits as I write this. 33 million jobs lost in the U.S. alone so far. And we haven't even hit the apex yet, let alone seen the real economic fallout.
Anyway, the gun is selling for $249 at my local gun shop and they have them in stock, so I'm headed over to look at one now. I really like the 16-round capacity and that it comes with two magazines. I'm not going to deprive myself of the fun of a new gun for the chance I may save $50 in a year or two. Even though I do love a bargain. Stay safe, everybody.
Just wait these are hot not a good time to buy a damn thing, I'm waiting on these and the wrangler
They should of let them go for 250 since the Ruger sr22 goes for around 300 online
This is a nice looking gun with good specs and features. The only thing I question is how durable the polymer mags are and the availability. I'd prefer metal mags.
Just a few more bucks for a basic mark 4. Why buy this? Maybe if it were 2 bills.
Taurus gets knocked a lot, but you're getting 6 more rounds per mag and true striker fired 22lr as well as something close to full sized with a thread adapter. A year from now may low 200s, but it's new so get in line. :p
Only time will tell if it's a POS or decent.
I fully support the trend toward innovating on magazines to get more than 10 rounds into 22lr. I think people are giving up on California and fiends such as Kel tec with the coming cp33.
Supposed to be a good shooter with an okay trigger, and comes with two 16-round mags.
Yeah I totally agree. $180-200
It would have been cool if they had a slide with an optics mount. Very cool trigger but I’ll keep my SR22 and M&Pc 22. Both are good shooters.
Very
Considering that the reliable and proven Ruger SR22 and the S&W M&P22 are on sale this week for around $270, these need to come down in price to about $240-250 before they start becoming deals.
I say more like 180-200
I paid 180 or less for my Taurus: TCP, G2C, 85 and 709.. and barely paid more than 200 for my 809
No way in hell im paying more for a 22lr with an aluminum slide than I did for a 380, 9mm, stainless 38spl
One of the best pistols ever. Wish their 9mm felt this good in hand. I have the competition version, this one, and the compact and it's easily my favorite all time 22 to shoot. Excellent trigger out of the box and better than my high end highly modified buck mark at this point.
