  • My gosh. I can't believe it. I like it better than my Glock 26 for conceal carry. Bought an amberide Kydex holster on Amazon for $18. Love the thing. I hate safeties but I'm training with it. Just like my Glocks it eats everything dirty rusty metal hollow points. Everything. Accurate. Low recoil. Very light. I list 109 lbs and 6 surgeries over 4 months in the hospital. I can't carry my heavy pistols. I carry one mag in my pocket as backup. Good trigger. Great curve at the bottom of the magazine. Racks easier than ALL my pistols. Loading was tough. Now it's fine. Just took 2 weeks of loaded mags. 5 stars. I can't believe it. I want to get the safety removed and glued in place. But it is a good positive safety. $200. Buy it. If you hate it sell it for $250 lol. Don't think I'm changing anything on it. The grip is perfect. Almost like an aftermarket coating. Never adjusted the sights. I hear no more G2 soon. G3 only $50 more. I had so many people tell me they carried one I had to get one. Glad I did.

Couldn't pass this up for this price. If I don't like it, I can trade for something else. Ordered last night, and already got notice that it shipped a day later.

I got one from here couple weeks ago. I have carried it ever since. Just something cool about it and for the price can't be beat. My P365, Glocks and everyone else are chilling in the safe now.

Purchased this as I couldn’t pass the $169 deal. I’ve fired about 300 rds thru her and have experienced no ftf or fte during the initial break in. As for accuracy she’s good to the 15 yd mark, I’d highly recommend this pistol as a budget 9mm class home defense pistol, it’s well suited and priced at this cost

Well, you can be outraged, post all over the forums how badly you've been treated and not get a gun. Or satisfy them that it's a legal gun purchase by having your FFL contact them. Your choice.

Is there a reason your FFL can't contact them? Or are you just standing on principle?

If you're talking to me. Im not outraged nor did i post anywhere but this specific sale.

The website of purchase says i can email him the FFL details but the owner said that i have to make my FFL dealer do it all.

"Please email A copy of your FFL to [email protected] If you have any other questions or concerns feel free to contact us at (313)436-0251. (M-F) 10-4pm."

I was just at a loss since i was already charged for the item and i had no response from the seller after i sent him the FFL. I had to call him numerous times, on day 3 he picked up near close, just to listen to him tell me that the website was incorrect in a monotone prerecorded sounding voice. He repeated this again and i told him that i appreciated him charging me before receiving what information he actually needed. He called me back and told me that thats all he needed and he'd send it. I just don't understand the extra legwork for no reason i guess. If i had the correct information from the start, and my questions i had been...answered, it would have been perfectly fine.

Wouldn't a single call to your FFL dealer with the details of your purchase and where to fax over his licence have quickly solved all of your problems? That's exactly how I've handled every online gun purchase I've ever made.

Unless there is some reason you don't want your FFL dealer to have to talk to Combat Armory? If so, that sounds fishy to me. Think of how it sounds to Combat Armory who will be liable if the gun they are selling ends up sold improperly or in the wrong hands.

After all, your FFL dealer is taking the responsibility of receiving the gun, and running the background check to make sure you are legally eligible to buy the gun. I don't think they can just take a customers word that all of that will happen and ship to a dealer they've never spoken to.

So full of useful afterthoughts and personal feelings about how life should be. Seller sent the item exactly with what information i gave him and said it was no problem. Thank you for giving me your opinion, repeatedly. I look forward to your continued commenting about my experiences. Have a great day. My vlog is CoreyHaynes on youtube because i know u will want to keep up.

The seller is very resistant to sending the gun. He wants me to contact my FFL and make them send them their license info with my name and order details vs me just sending the license over for them.

    4 votes

That is pretty much 100% standard across the industry. Don't know why you are expecting different. Why would they ship a gun to a shop they hadn't spoken to on the word of a stranger? Your're offended they are following the law?

Buds gun shop has never done that to me, they send it to whatever FFL i select . It's a registered FFL. I sent him a signed and stamped copy of their license from the state and it wasnt good enough is all im saying. I guess i'm just used to a seller that actually wants to sell their gun and handles the paperwork themselves.

That's because the FFL list to pick from on Bud's has already told them to send it, they do transfers, agreed on a fee, etc. I am FFL. I don't want wholesaler sending me a firearm out of the blue, not good business.

Why would anyone accept an FFL transfer...they arent making money.

You can't get a better gun at this price. If I was trying to get something for home defense and was on a tight budget, this is the gun. It really is a do everything 9mm. Enough rounds for home defense, small enough to CCW, and big enough to do prolonged range sessions with. I have 15 handguns and ones I like more than my PT111, but it's easily the best bang for the buck in my collection.

I highly agree, she’s a great budget pistol among the top in my collection. A good first purchase option for sure

Had two PT111G2's. Trigger broke on one within first 50 rounds and Taurus took over 6 weeks to return. Other Taurus has fired over 900 rounds with no problem.

Bought one for my wife 3 months ago and zero problems after 1200 rounds. Great shooting gun and it is a nice ccw also. Remember the “take15” code for the $169 price.

You will have better luck asking the seller your questions directly on their website. There is a link to email comments and questions at the bottom of the sellers front page. This is a deal website and the retailers actually selling the guns don't necessarily monitor the comment section here.

SUCH A GREAT DEAL! I love the PT111. it is my primary EDC
This gun will always be special to me because I passed my LTC license with it, and was getting clowned for showing up with a "wives gun"

    - That has been the only downside I have experienced with the PT111
    - I did upgrade the guide rod to stainless from Lakeline llc,

Galloway also offers guide rods and triggers for that critter

I see some people complaining about the warranty. Where do you see that it's not lifetime?

    0 votes
    0 votes

Page down a bit in the comments and you will see the current Taurus warranty posted:

"The Taurus Unlimited Lifetime Repair Policy extends to all Taurus USA firearm models in production prior to January 1, 2017."

    Or check their website.

I don't own a Taurus myself, but I noticed one of my local firearm dealers wearing a Taurus sidearm in his shop. He's been in business for around 25 years.

    2 votes
    0 votes

He may be talking about the PT111 Millennium G2, which is essentially the same gun with the Keyed safety. Or he could even be talking about a gen 1 pistol, those had a lot of problems, or maybe he just got a lemon. it happens, which is why anecdotal stories don't really matter until they add up. So far there's a lot more good owner reviews than bad owner reviews on this particular gun.

Can't believe there are 21 people that know ANYTHING about guns that would thumb up a taurus....smh

I've sent in Brownings, Rugers, Para's, Keltec's and a Taurus. Whats your point?, if it needs repair they are a junk company? If you buy enough and shoot enough, they are going to break.

    0 votes
    0 votes

Do you own one? I own 2 of these + 3 other full size semi autos + 4 revolvers. All are Taurus and I have yet to have a problem with any of them. I've also sold a few that also had zero problems during ownership. I understand that they have had bad luck that turned people away, but no company ever intends to release a product that they know is defective. This is an awesome deal and the chances of getting a defective pistol are minute. I guarantee there is no firearm company that has not released a defective product at some point. It's OK to hold a grudge, but don't try to make up other people mind especially if you have no extensive experience with the product.

I've got a Millennium G2 and have had zero problems with it and shoot it better than my other handguns. It is rock solid so far and it does carry the Lifetime warranty. The only complaint I have against it is the aggressive, textured grip while great for the hand is to rough for IWB and no undershirt.

The Judge has a long history of great reviews for what it is and their Model 85 38 Special revolvers are flawless.

Bought one of these two years ago from Gander Mountain before closing their doors.. I live 4 hours from their warranty warehouse in Miami. It took them 3 months to replace the mag release and send it back. Took it straight to the range after picking up and BOOM, The dang mag release broke again. Called up Taurus and they didnt believe me at first and then proceeded to tell me it would be another 2-3 months to fix. I immediately sold it and bought a glock 43. I'd never trust this gun to protect my family, ever. With that said, for this price I almost want to buy one just to run tons of ammo through and beat the shit out of it. See of they improved this model at all...hmm

How did you buy it 2 years ago? G2C was just released this year

Some of my comment got deleted before posting. First time at the range on the 5th shot, the mag release broke completely off. I sent the gun back a second time to be fixed and sold it months down the road once they sent her back again.

Damn, this is tempting for 170, 180 in my hands after transfer..
I heard good things about this model.

But I don't really NEED it.. the size is nice but I'd be taken a 1/3rd drop in capacity.. *torn*

Taurus has been busy at work doing crappy things to their loyal customers is why. Many settlement owners still twisting in limbo waiting for their money. They rename the PT-111 G2 so they can wiggle out of the lifetime warranty, etc..etc...

Bad company doing what bad companies do IMHO. Now if all you can afford is a Taurus(?) then yes buy one vs no gun. Me? My time is worth money, and I'm sick of wasting it on Taurus. Bad platform support/bad parts supply, bad CS, & now a stripped down warranty. The writing is on the wall for those who care to read it.

Crap finish, crap warranty, crap company... that sums it up. Spend a little more and buy a quality firearm by a good American company Ruger. You can get the security 9 (15+1) for $275 on sale with a excellent warranty and service department. :)

... "use a protective layer of turtle wax or a similar product. For a sub $200 pistol these are ok guns" ... That was your comment last December. Why the change of heart? It's a cheap gun at a cheap price. If you get a good one, it works great. Same gamble, different gun, different day.
