Got one for $200 OTD and loved the size, capacity, and accuracy for a subcompact but I had to sell it. Had a big issue with the magazine routinely unseating and causing failure to chamber. After 2months at Taurus, it came back even worse. It was unable to shoot an entire magazine without dropping. This was a gun that I really like and would have carried but it had a major flaw and Taurus proved unreliable in fixing their error.

Picked one up 2 weeks ago for 188 shipped so this isn’t a great deal imo

I have carried this daily for over a year with thousands of rounds through it at the range. It will assuredly stack up against the Austrian varieties, at one third the cost. Spend the rest of your money on ammo an range time!

How long do it take for my gun to get here?

I would suggest calling or emailing the vendor selling the gun, Gunprime.

This is a forum where potential buyers discuss whether or not various gun advertisements are good deals.

It isn't a customer service forum.

Bought my pt111 about 3 months ago shot almost 300 rounds of ammo through it and only 1 jam up. Would recommend it for highly for a self protection or home defense weapon.

I've got three. Bought the first one a few years ago. The other two were within the past year. All run fine, but I like the oldest the best. Probably because its broken in?

Maybe I've been lucky. Is buy a fourth but ice got too many already.

Bought one as a throw down truck gun. It became my daily carry for the past few years. has been as reliable as my glock 19 that it replaced. trigger pull is a bit long but has a decently short reset and shoots anything I put through it. excellent gun at this price point and one I have had no issue with in anyway.

What happened to your Glock 19?

I stopped carrying it because I had a gun that did the job just as well, with a smaller profile, and if I had to use it in self defense I am fine with a $200 handgun being held in evidence for a while. Plus this gun fits into some of my glock leather holsters (will not fit kydex due to the strigger guard shape).

FYI - the finish on these was changed over a year ago. These are no longer blued. They are coated with Cold black oxide. This is the bottom rung as far as manufacturers finishes go. It will rub/wear off extremely fast unless you use a protective layer of turtle wax or a similar product. For a sub $200 pistol these are ok guns *if you get a good one from the factory*. Taurus is in chaos right now dealing with 100,000+ of settlement guns and their QC & CS have suffered greatly as of late. So factor those things in to making a informed decision.

Thanks for reminding me. I would have ended up missing the deadline. I have a 1st edition PT140. I was CCing it and I found out what a piece they are. The original has a plastic front sight that is mounted to the slide by two small nipples. I caught the sight on my seatbelt and broke the sight off. When I contacted Taurus at first they told me they didn't have any spare sights and then I ended up paying around $20 for one. I would never go Taurus again and I will be asking for the cash option for the settlement. I think I will use it to buy a Glock 19 or 26.

I had two of these. Trigger broke on one within 40 rounds and Taurus fixed. I've put about 700 rounds through the other and no issues at all.

"I'll boll ur fucking head off"

boll:noun:the rounded seed capsule of plants such as cotton or flax.

Hmmmmm...Well...he spelled the word 'fucking' correctly. Definitely not homeschool material.

Not without any bullets he won't. I'm thinking he didn't vote for Trump.

Great gun BTW. My favorite CC.

You'll need to be 21 in order to purchase, which means you'll need to wait another 9 or 10 years by my estimation.

My, "Young Shooter" don't we have a potty mouth! Relax and have a beer, unless you are about ten years old as another poster humorously suggested.

No issues here bangs out all types of ammo. Safety can be accidentally switched on while shooting for some. Comfortable and pretty accurate for me. Well worth he sub $200 price tag IMO.

Aviator, sorry you got a lemon. Mine has been flawless. Sounds like some of the early ones had problems.

Shot it for the first time the other day, locked up every time I shot. Not worth it.

Piece of shit. I had one and it locked up twice. Had to go back to Taurus because the local gunsmiths couldn't get the slide to unlock. Taurus sent my "Stainless" slide pistol back to me with rust all over it. My local gun shop laughed as so did I and they too it back to use as a test gun for their new cerakote operation. It was really too bad. The problem was with the recoil spring assembly jumping off the barrel. Was a known issue. Hopefully fixed and re engineered by now... two years later. Just make sure. The stainless slide isn't worth the hassle. I know stainless doesn't always mean stainless, but this was pathetic... coming from the factory all rusted up. Good luck! It's a Taurus.

Weird... I've bought two for personal use, and my Dad and best friend and now g/f and her best friend have bought one after trying mine... reviews are very consistent and positive for this accordingly. First dead-realiable Taurus has made, and yet it's still at crazy-cheap Taurus prices. Shoots as well as my XDm for a third the cost. Sorry to hear your experience wasn't the same, Aviator!

In my opinion this is the best sub $200 pistol available on the market. Holds a full 13 rounds, has a rail and all in a size of the Shield. I've owned a few of these and they all have been ammo eating machines and super reliable. Yes, the triggers are not the best but if you shoot about 500 rounds they do get much smoother, or a little Dremel work and you can get the same effect. I've never had any problems with jamming or ftf's. Any time you can get one of these under $200 it's worth snatching up. Great truck or home defense weapon.

I've been afraid to buy one because of the sub-200 price in 9mm (basically competing with a hi-point or phoenix arms) so thank you for the insight and basic break in period. For the price it is spot on for a glove box.

These comments are all facts regarding the ability and reliability of the PT111. I own 3, all flawless functionality. Buy one, or two. Tis the season!
