Taurus G3c 3.26" 9mm 12+1 - Black
The new Taurus G3c builds on the proven foundation that has made the compact G-series among the most popular personal defense/EDC handguns ever while advancing function, reliability, and durability to the next level.
FEATURES
ALL-WEATHER FINISH
To provide longer wear resistance and better corrosion protection from environmental conditions, the G3c slide is treated with a proven Tenifer finish—delivering more robust surface integrity to minimize scuffing and maximize corrosion resistance. In addition, all operational controls benefit from a black Teflon coating which provides corrosion and rust resistance as well as a reduced friction coefficient that offers smoother operation.
ERGONOMIC FRAME AND MAG
An ergonomic grip profile—with its expertly contoured palm swell, highly textured grip panels, memory pads for precise, repeatable finger/hand placement, and sculpted extended base plate—provides a glove-like fit for most shooters’ hands to better promote accuracy and firearm retention. For enhanced performance, scallops are included with the G3c magazine extension. These are designed to assist in tactical magazine changes should dust or grit prevent the magazine from dropping freely when depressing the mag release. The G3c comes standard with three 12-round magazines. Fifteen- and 17-round G3c magazines will also be available for customers who desire even higher capacity.
UPGRADED FLAT TRIGGER SYSTEM
Engineered for accuracy-enhancing performance, the upgraded G3c trigger has an exceptionally crisp break to reduce shot disturbance and to help tighten groups. A redesigned flat trigger face concentrates finger pressure on the front of the shoe for a straighter pull while a shorter trigger reset delivers quicker follow-up shots, reduces sight alignment disturbance, and minimizes the tendency to jerk the trigger.
SIGHTS AND MORE
Designed to withstand the rigors of everyday carry, the G3c comes standard with all-steel front and rear sights. The rear sight is serrated to reduce glare and quicken sight picture acquisition, while drift adjustability allows the shooter to fine-tune the point-of-impact. The rear sight dovetail is also cut to dimensions which accept the most common aftermarket fiber-optic or tritium night sights available.
UPGRADED SLIDE DESIGN
Standard rear serrations are now accompanied by serrations at the front of the slide to provide a more tactile surface area for a more positive grip—making slide manipulation and press checks easier regardless of operating style or hand size. A visual chamber indicator replaces the mechanical indicator found on the Taurus® G2c, reducing parts and streamlining the slide profile.
- Upgraded Flat Trigger System.
- Serrations at the Front and Rear of the Slide Provide a Positive Grip.
- Drift Adjustable Serrated Rear Sight (Dovetail Cut Compatible with Most Aftermarket Sights).
- Visual Loaded Chamber Indicator.
- Tenifer Finish Maximizes Corrosion Resistance and Minimizes Scuffing.
- Teflon Coating on All Operational Control Parts.
- Comes Standard with Three Magazines, 3x12 Rounds.

  • Reliable and great value. No regrets. Cleaned and oiled before using. Ran about 300 rounds, 115,124 grain FMJ Blazer, Win, no issues. Still need to run various brand JHP rounds to find the best fit. Good grip size, perfect for larger hands. Was looking for something between a compact and subcompact that allowed pinky to rest on grip and still mitigated snappy recoil felt with smaller subcompacts. Impressed with quality of finish and function for price. Trigger take up and reset seemed good enough to me. Red dot for manual safety not placed on slides anymore. This was confirmed by a Taurus rep on the phone. Not a concern for me, but can be confusing when seeing the pics online and in the manual, if you even use the manual safety. Changed out the plastic recoil guide rod/spring with Lakeline LLC SS and added Hogue HandAll beaver tail grip for tighter and "stickier" grip. Helped with recoil slightly and grip, improving accuracy. Re-strike capability is nice, but never used it yet, except for dry firing. Some users complained about feed issues with the feed ramp, due to imperfections on their ramp. I have not seen or experienced issues with my feed ramp. Barrel rifling had rusty color before and after first cleaning, but disappeared after firing. The sights can be changed out with metal Glock compatible fiber or night sights which is a huge plus. Magazines are really tight to load 11th and 12th rounds new. Mag loader recommended until they break in, and they break in well after using. Easy to break down and clean/oil. Plenty of aftermarket part upgrades and accessories, as this model has been out a while. This handgun beats the "you get what you pay for", IMO.

  • Caveat - I had to send mine back to the factory to get fixed - mine had an extraction issue where it couldn't make it through a full magazine without a jam. The whole process took about 8 weeks with no communication from Taurus. On paper - this gun is a titan of value - it comes with 3 mags, it uses glock sights - it has an OK trigger, it gets great capacity. It's somewhere between a slimline gun and a true double stack in size. The size is a very good "goldilocks" size with amazing grip texture. The trigger is a double action / single action. What that means is the first trigger pull if the gun is decocted is about a half pound heavier and the take up to the wall is about a pound heavier. In my gun that's a 5# single action and 5.5# double action with a 2# take-up vs a 3# take-up. If this gun worked out of the box - I'd give it 5 stars because it's tough to argue with the value the pistol delivers on - the design is really strong. The execution on the chamber cutting of my model was unfortunately lacking. I'd give Taurus another shot - but I'd open to the fact it might have to go in for work.

Totally worth it over the G2C. Better trigger, more slide serrations. Not that much of a difference like $30. I bought my G2C before the rapage that is going on with panic buying. Think I paid $217 out the door in November of last year. Shot a G3c at my local range. Far superior trigger.

Love my G2C, but had to replace the trigger with one from Keep Tinkering. It would be nice to have the trigger safety back.

Just sold a 15 year old Taurus PT/24 pro for 500 a week ago. So I would say not quite true. Taurus now makes quality guns. Even my old 24/7, never had one FTF and I have over 5k rounds through it.

or more... In the past the G2 pt111 has been one of my best "trade stock" or simply investment purchases. Id buy 3-4 when they were on sale for $170-$180 and then almost always get $275-$300 trade value and or sell them for $250. Ive probably bought and sold/traded 50 pt111's over the past 10-11 years. Ive always said in my opinion the Taurus PT111 G2 pistol was the best "budget" pistol on the market that could be purchased sub $250, and often sub $200. its a very compact pistol about the same size as the Shield, carries 13 rounds vs. 8 in the Shield, has nice grip texture, and best yet it has a rail for lights and or laser! thats alot of pistol for little money. Even with the market flooded with budget pistols, its still a good buy sub $250.
I prefer the G2 over the G3 anyhow. Of course like most budget guns it has its downfall and thats the trigger. A long, creepy, heavy trigger is true. But it also gets better with use. For a self defense weapon the trigger wouldnt make much of a difference under extreme stress and adrenaline. As long as it goes bang, your all good.
