Features
The G3 continues the proven polymer-frame profile now in a full-frame configuration, with generous stippling patches across the grip for maximum control and retention in any shooting condition, an ergonomic palm swell and side-frame Memory Pads that provide quick, positive hand positioning. The frame has an integrated Picatinny rail. A manual safety and slide release lever are optimally positioned above the thumb for easy manipulation. A refined element of the G3 is the 6 lb. trigger, designed with a smooth take-up and a surprisingly crisp, clean break exceeding that of typical striker-fired pistol trigger performance. A short reset promotes quick, controlled follow-up shots.

id be curious to know how much better the G3 trigger is over the horrible G2 trigger? Dont get me wrong, The Taurus PT111 G2 is one of the best budget pistol on the market, especially when you could buy them sub $200. The pistol itself is a very good, home or self defense pistol. For about the same size as the SW shield you get a full 12+1 capacity, nice textured grip, decent sights and best of all a bottom rail for lights, lasers or whatever else you would want. All of which again the Shield does not have and both are almost identical in size. The only downside to them is the horrible, heavy, creepy trigger although They do get better with use.
Anyone care to share their actual real world experience between the G2&G3 triggers?
i own both. the g3 is the exact same if you ask me, minus the bullet in the chamber indicator, ive never noticed a difference in the trigger pull but i also never had a problem with the g2 trigger. if you google it i wouldnt be surpised if its either the exact same or only a tiny bit lighter. i absolutely love the g3 for a budget gun and i bought it simply because i have bigger hands. i would recommend the g3 but i cant say its much different at all. definitely never had a fail to fire yet...
Me personally I noticed a night & day difference between the G2c & G3c.
I fired my nieces G2c awhile back & when the G3 series came out & I tried there triggers I bought both G3 & G3c.
Both are great pistols & I agree never a issue with either of mine & good chance for the price I will pick up 1 of each again.
