Why do you keep posting PSA with prices of $250-$280? I went ahead and bought one from family firearms for $209 and $13 shipping and they shipped it the next day. With PSA you’ve got an additional sales tax and a higher shipping charge and they don’t ship anything the next day. On the downside I had eight of these and gave away five and sold three for $200 apiece to a relative and now I’m buying one back for $209 plus shipping and FFL $20.
I bought one of these from PSA 12/30/19 for $179.99 with free shipping and no sales tax and I received the $25 Taurus rebate. Same place selling the same gun less than a year later for $120 more dollars and no rebate. No deal...
I bought one of these last year from RKguns and it was on sale for $185. It also had a $20 mail in rebate from the oh so reliable manufacturer which I mailed in and never received.
Do not buy a firearm from PSA. They deduct from your account right away but won’t ship your firearm for more than a month. Emailing customer service only gets you an automated response asking you to wait longer and good luck getting them on the phone. Terrible terms from a bad company, look elsewhere. I am trying to let as many people know about my experience so potential victims don’t suffer the same fate
Oh boy... you really hate PSA huh? A lot of companies are disappointing customers right now. OpticsPlanet is another one you can add to your list. Both use to be much better but then covid came along and gave them an excuse to suck
Thank you for letting us know. I was gonna buy dagger from them in "March", so far it's not out. They're screwing themselves over. Not gonna buy anything from them. Over promise, under deliver
I've order a pistol and AK pistol from them when this covid shit started and they shipped it within a few days
I have one of these... And honestly... Its a great gun... Never had an issue... The trigger pull has a lot of travel.. But other than that.. You cant beat it for the price... It's Definately not a 900$ pistol but it shoots when you pull the trigger and hits what you are aiming at... If u are looking for a hand gun without bells and whistles and don't wanna break the bank this is for you.
Get the short stroke trigger and steel spring kit from Galloway precision makes a huge difference
Just typed up my story and the gun app deleted that shit when I scrolled up. Shorter version as my time on the shitter is coming to an end and my kids are pounding on the door like maniacs for my to come play hide-n-seek...screw this cheap gun. 8 shots into buying this gun new from Gander and the mag assembly broke and dropped the magazine out while shooting. Sent back for repair down to Miami. Live in Tampa so figured it wouldn't be too bad. 4 months later I got an email she was on her way back to me. No bullshit the 5th round shooting after getting back the gun did the same damn thing. I thought the gun understanding it was cheap and wasn't expecting too much but when the 2nd turnaround for fixing was 6 months I bitched enough to Gander and got a store credit and never looked back. Spend a little extra money and buy the Sig P365 or a g43. Would never trust this pistol to protect me and my family's lives.
Interesting. I bought an used mag (holes to see number of rounds is on a different size) and was having issues with it. I used their chat to mention the issues. They asked for pistol's serial number and my address and 3 days later I got a new magazine for free. Fun fact: I figured out what was wrong with the old magazine: bubba found a way to insert the spring wrong.
The rebate ended in December. If you were going to buy one, like I did, you should have already bought it. Otherwise you flushed $25 down the drain.
I find 9/10 folks who talk crap about this pistol fit into three categories.
1) They automatically "assume" this pistol is crap simply based on the price and value but have actually NEVER shot or even held it I their life.
2) their fanboys of other gun brands and hate on Taurus to keep their "Cred" going with other fanboys. Lol
3) their folks who bought other "old" versions of Taurus from the 80's thru late 90's when Taurus struggled with QC and it's manufacturing processes. Yes back then they were absolutely crap!
But since the rebirth of taurus into the U.S. And it's upgrading machining and quality control they are a wonderful value. I've owned and shot several PT 111's and had great success with all of the pistols.
As others have said, it's a compact pistol about the same size as a shield yet you get a full 13 rounds, they have a rail, great hand feel, they are Uber reliable as I've fed mine hundreds of riu ds of ammo from shitty aluminum and steel cased up to defensive rounds with no issues. They also are fairly accurate at combat or self defense range.
In my opinion you cannot beat the value and price!
They are great conceal carry guns.
The only issue I've ever had is the long heavy triggers. Yes they are not that good but they do smooth out after a few hundred rounds and in a defensive situation one would not even feel the trigger. Also you can polish and smooth them like I do with a Dremel. Still worth the $200 all day long
P.S. SCCY is absolute shit....I've bought two different ones and they are jam-o-matics...just saying...lol
I didn't have too many jams with my purple and silver SCCY. But the pins did walk out. I don't believe they've fixed that problem yet.
The same pt111 that resulted in a class action lawsuit bc it would go off on its own? you might want to pick a better gun as an example
If you consider the G3c another generation of the PT111, they have gone through 5 generations now. The PT111 G2c was the first one after the lawsuit (don't remember)? I do know is that most people liked it besides the trigger (some say it has to be used to smooth it; I want to say that is when Galloway precision started making parts for it). Think of it as the M&P v2. The G2c was very well received and got rid of the silly built-in lock. The G3 family is riding on the success of the G2c and supposedly has a better trigger from factory.
That was so many years ago and it was a lady that settled for I think $3 million because she dropped the gun and it went off then they fixed them all and all these years later there's no trouble. They bought the Beretta factory lock stock and barrel in Brazil. I've bought at least 15 of these guns for friends and relatives they make great Christmas presents and under $200. The one that I carry, you just have to be careful cleaning it because since I got it six or seven years ago I've never cleaned it once and it's never had a misfire anything else and neither have my family members.
For all think this is great gun it's my only taurus and never will buy one again you get what you pay far . It fires every time you pull the trigger is amazing enough, accuracy out of the box is a joke . It feels like every Taurus I've ever held junk it's a truck gun and I really implore you to use this but as a last resort. It needs serious tweaking out of the box feels cheesy. For a first gun if you buy because it's reasonably priced it might just turn you off of guns realize there's way better guns out there!
I agree completely, which is why I only use mine in competitions (it shoots as well as my Glock, and using it annoys the other competitors).
“” People these days are too dumb and lazy to form a counter argument “” ? Or to smart not to argue with a pin head.
"Or to smart not to argue with a pin head."
Yet here you are...pin head. See you actually proved my point; you can't shut the F up, have no counter point, BUT you have to come back to beat your chest.
I'd drop a mic right now if I was not so fiscally responsible.
Put about 1000 rounds through it.
First experience was good - I liked the gun!
Pros
- Pretty good ergonomics
- Very accurate for compact gun
- Right size for me
- A lot of a gun for buck
Cons
- Apparently cheap allow slide - visible wears after few hundred rounds. My FNS is definite winner here
- Few times it wouldn't load the round all the way into the chamber. Had to tap the slide to push the round forward. Usually happened after hundred rounds; perhaps, carbon on the load ramp was the root cause. Hope it fixes as it wears in.
Thinks Taurus came a long way in their products.
Ive only owned the "new" Taurus and they've been pretty reliable. I was watching the Utube vids on the G2S and it runs through 7 rounds, no misfires !
Good one for the cost, reliable ergonomic and good size. The weak point for me was front sight which after dropping and bumping a bunch broke. Customer service was eager to be helpful but stumbled a bit they sent the wrong sight and had the correct one on backorder for 3 months. They sent me a bunch of diff sights in the meantime (lol) that didn't quite fit finally when I was finally getting fed up they escalated to a manager had the correct sight, and extra rear sight and two mags 2 dayed to me so not bad for 200
I think I might buy another G2c. Because I can, enough said.
For me it ain't just about the firearm. It is about how Taurus lies to, cheats and treats customers. I witnessed that settlement mess and the way Taurus operated like a bunch of low feeders. I'll never buy another Taurus firearm and encourage those I know to buy up - which is about anything else. All you need is one issue with a Taurus firearm and you'll get it when a year later you are still trying to get your property back from those fakes.
"For me it ain't just about the firearm. It is about how Taurus lies to, cheats and treats customers. I witnessed that settlement mess and the way Taurus operated like a bunch of low feeders."
You do realize about every gun manufacturer has been part of a class action settlement....right?
Two downvotes from a couple of little girls who got their feelings hurt. People these days are too dumb and lazy to form a counter argument....
Hopefully you get your feelings unhurt soon. It is a $200 gun. And a nice one at that.
Sorry about your loss. Not ours. Taurus has really done better lately. Check out reviews if you must
So you clicked on the link to a gun that you have zero interest in and will never buy just to tell people who do not care?
Taurus is crappy warranty and crappy support....Go with SCCY for the money......
I can't personally mention Taurus' lifetime warranty as I've never had to use it and probably never will, but I'd rather have a G2C and not have to worry about needing warranty work done. The SCCY on the other hand...it's maybe best if they do have better warranty service (turnaround times, etc.)
I'll stick with my G2C and have better peace of mind that it will not fail me in the first place.
I purchased a PT-111 G2 Millennium (same thing as a G2C) almost 4 years ago and have had exactly one FTE (limp-wristed it firing left handed) after at least 600 rounds through it. It's my daily carry. Love the accuracy, dependability, compact size, aggressive grips, 12-round capacity, sights, two mags standard, loaded chamber indicator, slide serrations, magazine ejection and second strike capability of the gun, not to mention the insanely low price. When I voiced my opinion about the gun online, EVERYONE talked endless poop because it was a Taurus. Obviously, I was just a dumbass who knew nothing about guns, hah!
Now, years later the gun has won a solid fan base because it actually is a reliable gun for damn good price. Yet folks are still saying things like "It's no Glock," or they try to compare it to an HK or other guns at 3-4x the price. Tell me one thing the Glock with it's one year warranty does better for 3x the price?
It's an excellent budget gun that doesn't feel or perform at all like a budget gun. If you don't like Taurus then don't buy one, but I'm happy to see folks have come around. It's about the best bang for the buck compact 9mm on the market at the moment.
Exactly! Well said my friend. I couldn't agree more. This pistol In my opinion is by far the best value in self defense handguns on the market. The "Fanboys" can kiss my ass and go twiddle their Glocks together. Hahaha
Nicely said ! Great gun at an exceptional price.
Why buy from palmetto when they are charging sales tax and shipping? Bunch of crooks. My business is well deserved else where! Lot of palmetto fan boys here!!!
The free lunch is pretty much over. New laws are mandating online retailers charge sales tax, so whine all you want but nobody is cheating you. But, hey, if you get an overall lower price elsewhere then buy elsewhere. Duh.
Unless I missed something you're talking about the wayfair case..
That was a ruling not a law, It just gave the states legal precedence to go after online merchants.
Some states have different rules.. for example I think it's SD had minimum sale amounts that have to be met.. so small merchants aren't burdened.
I agree though.. free lunch is (almost) over.. every day more and more are collecting.
After you factor in shipping, tax, and transfer (And keep in mind I get mine for $10 which is on the cheap side)
it's still cheaper right now to get this locally where I can avoid transfers & shipping.
Sucks :(
Money grubbing states.
I consider myself law-abiding and don't mind paying my state sales taxes, since I use the many services and infrastructure they pay for. And if I think my taxes are too high then I use my vote to voice that opinion. Yup, most state governments absolutely could do a better job of husbanding the taxpayers' money, but you can't have your cake and not pay for it too.
Now, back to our regularly scheduled gun deals discussion.
You realize with new laws, all online sales are subject to your states sales tax, right?
Mine had trigger hang up issues after 80 rounds. Found out Taurus charges you $50 for a shipping label unless you buy you own. Take the $50 and put it towards a gun with a real warranty. Now I admit, I argued for days and finally got them to send a free shipping label but what happens next time? Would never buy a Taurus again.
I have over 500 rounds on mine, I still have not cleaned the gun. You definitely luck out or you may have messed up something. This gun is bullet proof in reliability!
Best gun for the money I own! It’s my truck console piece and has been a few years now! Reccomend highly
Picked up G2C last week and it’s a remarkably good shooter and amazing shooter considering the price. The trigger actually reminds me a lot of the HK LEM trigger on my P30SK - long, clean, resistance free take up, predictable break and fairly short (less than 1/8”) reset. To be clear I’m NOT comparing the G2C to an HK, not saying anything about durability and reliability over the long haul compared to HK. However, given that most won’t ever push the round count to where that matters, the G2C is a very fine budget gun IMHO. Ergos, texture and recoil perception are also VERY good. Sig P226 magazines (and more budget friendly Mec-Gar versions) work flawlessly so there are higher round count back up mag options should you decide to carry the G2C.
This is a great little gun for the price. Taurus has really stepped up lately. I like it.
Rebate is for the Taurus G3C, NOT the G2C.......
