  • My gosh. I can't believe it. I like it better than my Glock 26 for conceal carry. Bought an amberide Kydex holster on Amazon for $18. Love the thing. I hate safeties but I'm training with it. Just like my Glocks it eats everything dirty rusty metal hollow points. Everything. Accurate. Low recoil. Very light. I list 109 lbs and 6 surgeries over 4 months in the hospital. I can't carry my heavy pistols. I carry one mag in my pocket as backup. Good trigger. Great curve at the bottom of the magazine. Racks easier than ALL my pistols. Loading was tough. Now it's fine. Just took 2 weeks of loaded mags. 5 stars. I can't believe it. I want to get the safety removed and glued in place. But it is a good positive safety. $200. Buy it. If you hate it sell it for $250 lol. Don't think I'm changing anything on it. The grip is perfect. Almost like an aftermarket coating. Never adjusted the sights. I hear no more G2 soon. G3 only $50 more. I had so many people tell me they carried one I had to get one. Glad I did.

have had a few Taurus guns over the years and currently own two. This one and a PT738. My G2 had a trigger issue where it felt like it had 2 breaks. Taurus wants $50 to ship to them for warranty work, it's not free. I argued with them on the phone 4 times and finally got them to send a free shipping label. They have now had the gun for over 3 months and have done nothing. I talked to them the other day and they said they don't know when they will get to it. I say, F**K Taurus and I would NEVER buy one again.

One reason, I would buy S&W MP or SD. Yes, S&W has a lifetime warranty, with no question asked !!!

    Not bad handgun for practicing.
Will never consider it as carry gun.
I bought mine for about $155 after $25 rebate last year.
Was impressed by good ergonomics and accuracy.
However, failure to load first round is not a rare case; also had pin popping out - had to fix it.
    Decent range gun for money.

NGOA's business model isn't one that I support. They seem to be hiding their final price and won't even let me browse their website until I plunk down my credit card and drink the club cool-aid. I understand all businesses exist to make money. Unless an online gun retailer gets a great deal on a particular gun, or are clearing it out at a loss for some reason, it's hard to find a smoking deal that much better than others are offering. Some shops advertise a lower price but have various fees, some shops buy in bulk so they can undercut the competition by a few bucks, some have higher prices and win customers with outstanding service. NGOA seems to think they can make their money on folks forgetting about the monthly membership charge. It must work for some or they wouldn't be in business, but I personally hate, hate, hate being forced into a membership that I have to remember to cancel before a company will do business with me. Only and idiot buys before knowing the true final price they are paying and weighs it against product and service quality.

Now, as for Taurus. Same thing really. If you don't like their guns, service or their warranty then don't buy one. It's a budget gun at a budget price and you can't expect them to shit you diamond Tiffany cuff links for less than two bills delivered. Offering a one-year warranty on a sub $200 gun isn't exactly the crime so many are making it out to be. Please stop with the moral outrage that some of us might actually enjoy owning a Taurus firearm. Especially from those of you who don't even own this particular gun.

I blocked their deals, there is a option at the top to block them.

I agree all these membership club merchants can goto hell.
btw I've seen this gun for sell for 180 else where so they ain't nothing special on this deal.

    3 votes

If you blocked them, how did you know about the deal?

Not shown in the NGOA ad is the membership fee.
So which sites are a better deal?
    Almost all of them.

    https://www.mrgundealer.com/handguns/semi-automatic-handguns/taurus-pt111-g2c-double-action-only-compact-9mm-32-barrel-polymer-frame-stainless-finish-syntheticgrips-adjustable-sights-12rd-2-magazines-1471046...

    https://www.joeboboutfitters.com/Taurus-PT-111-Millennium-G2-Stainless-12rd-9mm-Sub-p/gun-1-g2c931-12.htm...

    https://palmettostatearmory.com/taurus-g2c-9mm-pistol-black-1-g2c931-12.html...

This is not a deal when this gun is only $20 more elsewhere without the monthly membership.
NGOA buyers club has fees that change, but commonly are similar to:
    * $96 sign up then $10/month
    or
    * $38/month
They've changed the fee struture, but it's an ongoing monthly fee.

If you're buying guns and stuff all the time every month, then yeah, then NGOA can work out for you. But if not...no deal.

And finally, as a stand-alone deal for a Taurus G2C?
    Not a deal

These NGOA guys are a scam. Read the complaints on BBB and everywhere else online. Just do a quick Google search. Stay far away from these guys.

    0 votes

Like how? Working every time? I even googled "taurus pt111 extractor" and "taurus g2c extractor" to see if anyone on the intranets was also crying however the only post on the first page of results was from 2011 complaining about a broken extractor. I added the word "problem" to both searches and a 2017 and 2013 result were added. For example a search of "glock 19 extractor problems" appears on the surface MUCH more damning....BTW, not suggesting there is anything wrong with a Glock 19.

Taurus reduced their warranty to just 1 year for anything built in or after 2017. Their quality is iffy and for only 1 year warranty. No im good. Few years ago with a life time warranty I would have bought. I own multiple Taurus. This is not so anti Taurus rant its just that they are doing their customers wrong. I had the 111 and traded it. Wish I wouldn't have but o well. I still have a 92, a public defender and the Raging Bull but I wont be buying anymore.

Historically their "Lifetime" warranty has been laughable at best with many reports of several months waiting to get guns back either not fixed or with new problems. It could be a cost cutting measure to increase profits, or cost cutting measure to increase QC. It could be a little of both. The cynical side of me would immediately say, cost cutting to increase profit, bar none. Time will tell.

Correction: Taurus reduced their warranty to any *MODEL* RELEASED AFTER 1/1/2017. Any model that was available before that date (regardless of manufacture date has a life-time warranty. For example at PT92 or Judge made yesterday have a life-time warranty where as a G2C purchased 366 days ago is out of warranty. I have heard they are still repairing firearms for free on a case by case basis even if they are technically out of warranty. Remember, lots of manufacturers have NO WRITTEN WARRANTY such as Ruger or only a year such as Glock.

I have a S&W SD9VE, I also have a concealed carry permit, I want to purchase a smaller 9mm piece to carry because my S&W is a little big although I do carry it at times.Just looking for a smaller reliable piece that I can carry more often. I have been looking at the Taurus G2, I welcome any additional pros/cons? Thanks

you wont be dissapointed,it has the capacity, reliable, looks and feels good shooting,i cant say enough about the PT11/G2C I own the PT which is basically the same gun. I too at first was like many and thought ewwww a taurus!!?? my son bought one as his first gun and i was a little upset thinking wow why that gun, after visiting him and looking at it and holding i was hmmmmm went to the range as my jaw dropped!! i came back got on the PC and ordered one that same day! thru gun deals.i believe i gave around $200 out the door with the $20 FFL, i love love love it!!! just for those out there I also own glock 22,40cal..S&W M&P2.09MM. S&W 357 revolver, and a ruger LCPII 380,and many rifles and shotguns. so im not a fisrt time gun buyer by anymeans. the size it perfect for conceal carry, and youll love the texturing on the grip, comes with 2 mags 12+1 havent had any problems what so ever!

If you want to carry 9mm smaller and thinner than your current SD9VE then I would suggest a Smith and Wesson M and P Shield or a Springfield XDS Mod.2, both models are thin and very reliable

The trigger isn't very good. Everything else it is perfect for concealed carry.

These things work well. That's all there is to it. They're incredibly ergonomic, reliable, and reasonably accurate. Nothing to complain about for $180. Hell, there isn't much to complain about at twice that price.

Each to their own, but I have sent in Taurus, Keltec, Browning, Para and Rugers for repair, Taurus is not the only manufacturer that has issues. When you consider the vast number of sub $200 G2's Taurus has sold, the percentage of guns going in for repair may not be any more than any other manufacturer.

Same happened here, promised a replacement 4/24/18 but ain’t seen it as yet. Recommend the Lakeline steel rear sight - don’t come with a screw, a (pricey) but sweet upgrade. Their green / orange rod light collecting replacement front sight would be a big improvement too.

Put a lil loc tite on that rear sight mounting screw. One look down to find a fly away set screw at a outdoor range & you soon realize the futility of human kind. Kudos to Taurus for excellent customer service. After a email, I rec'd a few replacement screws in the snail mail.

I own one of these and have put over 1,000 rounds through it without any issues of any kind. My Uncle, Aunt, and Niece each bought one after trying mine out. None of us have had any issues. I have owned over a dozen Taurus pistols, revolvers, and even a rifle and never had a complaint on them. My father had a 45 acp Taurus that gave him feeding issues but one trip back to the factory and it worked just fine afterwards.
I've had a Glock 23 blow apart while shooting it due to a thin fracture that ran through the left side of the frame by the take down lever, but I don't bash Glocks. All guns have lemons, some more than others, but the Taurus haters bash them on older models that had issues or just hate anything that's not Glock, S&W, etc..
I've never lost money on a Taurus gun that I've sold and yes, There are plenty of people buying them!

Well said. I don’t own a Taurus but I agree completely. Even the best brands have lemons. Just ask Kimber.

How on Earth have 57 people put thumbs up on a taurus?? Are you kidding me....they make junk...always have always will. Plus when you want to get rid of one good luck as few want them. Heck I know gunsmiths that refuse to even work on them their quality control is so bad.

    1 vote
    10 votes

Thats funny, since i have 3 different Taurus models, including this G2C, and none of them have ever given me a bit of annoyance. On top of which, my father went to Gunsmithing school in Pittsburgh back in the 80's, has had a successful business, and has done numerous custom jobs, and all the Taurus made pieces he has looked at he has never had anything bad to say. He even owns 4 himself! So seems to be the "gunsmiths" you know are either lazy beyond belief, they dont know what they are doing, or your talking out your a**.

How many Taurus pistols have you owned? I know gunsmiths who say your gunsmiths are full of crap. (see how that works?)

I own the PT111 and it has 700 rounds with zero failures. Pretty good record in my mind.

dont want to ruin this plus 1 fest but before buying taurus check out the link bellow of how luck of safety of these guns affected clients, mostly brazilian police officers. it might be another fake news, who know. but just be aware and make your own mind

“To understand the pervasiveness of Taurus’s safety issues, it helps to talk to Lívia Nascimento Tinôco, a Brazilian federal prosecutor in Aracaju, the capital of Sergipe state on the Atlantic coast. She’ll tell you that Taurus has a long history of selling guns that blow up or misfire, leaving a trail of injured, dead, or traumatized people. Almost all the victims in Brazil are law enforcement officers, who have no choice but to carry Taurus guns.”
    Tinôco k

There are too many questions in that story that were not asked or answered. Plus we are talking about the first generation of these pistols that were designed without an internal safety. If you search and find the video of the "shake fire" it is painfully clear that there is a broken or removed spring of some kind as the trigger clearly wobbles loosely back and forth as the gun is shaken, which causes the gun to fire without a finger on the trigger. Any gun can become unsafe if you use it with worn or damaged parts inside.

And the gun that killed that poor kid was in unknown condition. It was bought second hand at a pawn shop, and who knows if they ever took it to a qualified gunsmith to assess it's condition or if it was safe to fire. No firearm on the planet will be safe to fire forever if you continue to fire it after internal parts wear.

So, don't buy any first generation Taurus in the 24/7 or PT111 line. The second gen pistols like the Millennium G2 and the new G2C are getting rave reviews. I have the PT111 Millennium G2 in 9mm and love it.

If Taurus does not want to repair their guns, then they should at least provide parts for customers to buy and fix their own guns, I wouldn’t mind fixing my own gun at all, but I do need the factory manufactured parts.

The way the extractor is held in place is weird and weak, a simple pin would have been safer and much more simple, in my opinion the way the extractor is held in place is the weak link of this gun.

Just got mine in, I love it and will be buying a second. The gun feels great in your hand, the trigger is predictable and has a really quick reset. Surprisingly accurate and well built.

Hello reader, i have a simple solution to the silly arguement below. Just DO YOUR RESEARCH! Make sure you read all the 'fine print' when seriously considering making a fire arm purchase. If you're somebody that wants warranty for your gun, make sure they cover the specific model you're interested in.

The only one that can cause you to get snaked in this kind of business is yourself. So just be smart and do your research my friends.
