Wow I wonder where they dug these up at, 709 has been discontinued for a couple of years, the g2s took over for it which is ironically a little bigger.

I'd go with a gx4 if you're looking at this unless you just gotta have a 709.

Comes out to $163 even, not $152.99.

Brownells charges a $10 FFL fee. Always pay FFL transfer fee picking up, never to ship.

I own one manufactured in 2017 and after about 1k rounds, I haven't had an issue.

I own the Gen 1 and have a little over 1000 rounds without an issue. I can't comment on the Gen 2 as I have never fired one...

When are people going to wake up to this scam...The Picture of a Taurus 709 Slim is usually the Generation 1. Which has had great reviews & was a good product. NOT like the Generation II..Which is pure Saturday Night special Junk..
Wake up folks...Bait & switch..

Instead of just repeating the same comment over and over can you please explain why the second gen is "trash" and "junk"? It still seems to get good reviews. It is a different version of the same gun. This is what I could find for changes -"What’s new in Generation 2? An extended high-capacity magazine and an ambidextrous magazine release."

GEN 2 is PURE 100% Junk....They always show the picture of the GEN 1 709 Slim(which was great) !! The 2nd Gen is what is on the market today 90% of the parts will NOT FIT GEN1. I know, had many Gen 1 & one Gen 2.

Sorry but you are too stupid to own a gun if you are asking such fundamental questions Here!

Unless you have an FFL license it won't get shipped directly to you. Find an FFL in your area and find out how much they charge. Then they can contact the gun seller and you wait until it arrives at them.

Attn: Shoppers....I have had multiple 709 Slims since they came out.
Did anyone realize the fact there was a great 1st Gen(always shown for advertisement) & a 2nd Gen piece of junk ?? 90% of the first Gen parts will not fit the 2nd. Most all positive articles were on the 1st Gen.

Yeah who's the tool here? Let me give you a hint. It's the troll who states over and over that he has owned multiple Taurus handguns.

Get a fucking clue cockgobbler.

People, don't pay this bag of dicks any attention. The 709 Slim as well as the Millennium G2 are good budget handguns.

Great reliable gun. You also get a free NRA membership.

F U if you don't support NRA! Gun Owners of America is a far better organization (no compromise on anything 2A) but NRA has done a lot over the years to save the 2A and I'd bet you're just another Bloomberg Troll.

I'm pro the NRA. I don't understand your response towards me. I was stating it was a good gun and you also get a free NRA membership. A little reading comprehension goes a long way......

If I wasn't clear enough, free NRA membership that comes with $2500 gun insurance should your guns be stolen.
If you don't like them, don't use them. They have done alot of good in regard to lobbying for 2nd amendment rights.
Have a great day !

Wow, that is quite a list. I wonder if all that legislation would still have been proposed if corporate gun profits didn't exist.

I have owned the 709 slim for over a year and put over 600 rounds through it without a singe issue, at $169 this gun is a steal! I would not hesitate to carry this gun, but I currently carry my Glock 26 and see no need to change up.

Do you have the 1st generation or the worthless 2nd generation? 90% of the parts on the 2nd gen do not fit the 1st. I've had multiple 709's I know.

From what I have seen online the Gen 2 has it printed on the front of the slide.

The first series of PT709's were GREAT ! Machining, fit, finish, accuracy, even the trigger was OK..Read article in G & A mag about the single stack shootout. So I bought another Dec,2016...Like what the H happened? Crappy fit, finish, machining, this is the new 709 ?? Then theirs the trigger, OMG halfway it catches & with additional pressure it releases.. Never even fired the piece of junk immediately sent it to Taurus with a disgusting letter. That was 4-5 weeks ago, been calling them often & I hope all the calls are recorded. I actually give it a One Star.. This used to be a hidden Gem... I took pictures of the two side by side, what a difference
I also own Sig, Colt, FN, & CZ pistols.

This is surprisingly a good gun regardless of price. No malfunctions in the first 100 shots and lanbos is a good seller also.

I've owned and shot several Taurus autos. It's my opinion for the price they are great weapons. Granted, in past years older models were less than reliable but in the past few years they've really stepped up especially since merging with several other manufacturers like berreta. Quality control has improved greatly. I believe the Taurus pt111'S G2 9mm is the best sub $250 compact available. Super reliable, all 5 I've owned ate anything, never failed. Nice and tight, fit and finish was good and for a compact were accurate. The only complaint is the heavy trigger but I know how to smooth things out and fix the issue. Shooting a few hundred rounds helps the grittiness too. But often they can be had for $200 and for someone on a budget you can't go wrong. I do like their revolvers as well. I have an ultralight that I carry sometimes. But that's all my opinion and experience. To each his own

I keep it as a rule of thumb to never buy a Taurus auto. Their revolvers on the other hand are excellent. I have 2 and as long as you check the things that need to be checked before you buy, there should be no problems. I also own a Smith and I am just as satisfied with my Taurus.

Yeah I can agree with the Revolver statement. I have heard a lot of good things about the Revolvers. The Autos have been a disaster from what i have been reading and of course what I have been through on my own. Many people will defend them but I believe you are only as good as your worst customer service experience and unfortunately for myself and several other people Taurus has been an absolute nitemare. I always post on this gun not because I hate Taurus, but because I want to help my fellow gun owners avoid the disaster that I find myself in now. They still have my gun and we are coming up on 4 months they have had it in their possession, and I don't want any of my fellow gun enthusiast (especially new collectors) to fall into the same trap I did. That low price may look good but in the end I wish I had spent the extra 100.00 and got something reliable.

Terrible product, terrible customer service and terrible company altogether. Do your self a favor and go read some reviews of Taurus customer service before you ever consider buying anything from them. I bought a pt 709 slim and Taurus has had it 3 of the 4 months I have owned it and they have no time line one when it will be fixed. Save your self the trouble and buy something reliable.
