One thing to keep note of is the 3 inch barrel due to the porting & expansion chamber only has 2 inches of rifling. Actually the 2.5 inch (being unported) version has rifling all the way so it might be more accurate.
Something you should keep in mind. If you get the 3 inch you'd be getting it for the porting. porting can be both a positive and negative depending on purpose.
Porting is usually louder.
Porting vents gasses upward on a close quarters shot you stand chance of byrbing self.
Porting is going to reduce ballistics some.
The ports can also be blinding in a night fire situation.
•The benefit to porting is the reduced recoil.
•If your out of matches you could use ports to light cigarette. DO NOT RECOMEND TRYING.
Just some things to consider.

9mm down a .38/357 barrel? May be a dumb question but I do not know ballistics or sizes of particular rounds etc ...

Bullets are about the same size. A 9mm bullet is .355 or .356 in diameter.

I've had to send a few Taurus back over the last 20 years or so. Everyone was back within 2-3 weeks ready to go. Except... One was returned to me only "half" fixed. Contacted them again, returned it to them again and in two weeks I had a new replacement that was 100%. I've also had to return to Remington, Springfield over the years and never had issues with time or getting satisfaction. Guess I'm one of the lucky ones.

No thats the norm.
Remember this is the internet. Most complaints you see are from your local "village idiot".

If I remember correctly my experiences were worse Glock, sold my multiple Taurus a little while back and haven’t bought another.

"If I remember correctly"....do you have a cognitive problem? If you need to preface your first hand experience with "if I remember correctly" then you should never, ever, ever leave product reviews.

I have had a Raging Judge Magnum sitting in their service department for over 3 months and they still haven't touched it yet. Get the same response from customer service that it is in the repair process....

Thats sucks to hear. Things mustve changed at Taurus compared to in the 00's. I was a dealer and had to send a few Taurus's back as I've had to do with most manufacturer's. Sure they would take a few months but most the big manufacturer's take that long. Try sending a Colt back or H&K and see how long it takes and how well you are treated. Just Watch they very likely will send you a new gun. At least they use too anyways.

You think the trigger pull is bad??? Be glad you haven't had to experience their customer service... Ruger C/S is top notch, not sure about Chiappa.

I know it's a given knowing Taurus, but HOLY HELL is there double action bad on these. I thought the interchangeable cylinders was a novel idea and I actually liked the look of the stainless model, but I tried out both finishes at a LGS and I instantly dropped any want towards one. The DA is beyond heavy with some serious staging and lots of crust.

I'll stick with my GP100 and Chiappa.
