Sold out in 4 minutes on 4/20/16 it seems. A little odd.
The Uzi magazine will not work in this gun without a lot of metal work and fabrication. I have a Zytel magazine and a steel magazine that work 100% in this gun and run like sewing machine. Guaranteed and listed on Gunbroker.com. Uzi magazines do not have the correct feed lips for this gun and you have to weld a magazine catch to it to work in the gun. The magazine for the Taurus CT9 is like the guy says "proprietary". Taurus does not have the 10 rd available or the gun now. Banned under 922 rules. That magazine is of it's own design. I have spent weeks and hundreds of round of ammo developing this magazine to work perfect in this gun. After several people asking for a steel mag, I have the steel version now ready and rolling. There are a lot of "tricks" to making a magazine work in this gun. It takes key modifications to make a magazine work.
Ironsun21,
Good info. Thanks. Can you link us to the right workable magazine? Any video of you shooting?
Taurus is has discontinued this rifle? All I can say is This does not surprise me. It was way over priced. It does not use glock mags. The proprietary mags are no where to be seen. Just a really stupid market strategy from a company that already has a company with questionable track record of quality control and issues supplying a market that demands more magazines than it can supply. I will never by a semi auto anything from Taurus. Now a cheap revolver maybe. The seem to have that market figured out. But anything else from Taurus is a crap shoot.
If they actually discontinued this rifle, it was due to lack of demand (and I'm assuming this post is about the G2 version). No aftermarket magazines were made available for non-10button states. Was a neat concept and it wound up on a couple of SCIFI TV shows but it failed due to lack of aftermarket. Probably a nice gun otherwise. I had high hopes for this gun but instead bought a Beretta CX-4 Storm Carbine as it could use both the 15 round 92F series magazines.. as well as the 30 round mags for that same pistol.
How is the trigger on the CX-4? I hear/read it's pretty crappy but otherwise a fine product.
Yep I did a Kel-Tec Sub 2000 for the same reason
If a bunch of firearm manufacturers would get smart about the magazine issue they would sell a lot more guns. Ruger has annoyed me forever with the baloney they pull with their one-off magazines that are obviously intentionally designed to force you to buy their mags.
What is funny is this picture. The magazine shown in this grapic is probably capable of 30 rounds =)
That looks like an Uzi magazine. Several have tried using FMK mags but they are too short from front to back width. With a lot of welding an FMK magazine would be possible to make work. You add that to the cost of $25 for FMK 20 round you are going to have an expensive magazine and unless you know the "tricks" of modifying it correctly, you will get a magazine that will work about 70% of the time with a lot of annoying jams.
I own one its a good gun but a rifle that only holds 10 rounds is just plain ignorant when most pistols hold 15 to 17.
This looks like a pretty cool gun for a very decent price.
Mag looks a little dinky.
Any body have experience with it?
What kind of mag is that in the 1st picture? Looks like an UZI magazine?
Definitely not a 10-rounder :).. Doesn't look like one of their proprietary mags either..
Keltec sub2000 is becoming available again for less then this. It has 33rd capability with proven Glock mags AND only weighs 4.0 pounds AND folds. No contest.
This would sell so good if they would have designed the US version to use a stock that the original does.
Original stock looks like a SCAR, this stock blows
Yes, I got it at $360. Damn good deal. Been looking for one for a while and I got it. Thank you gun.deals.
