  • Reliable and great value. No regrets. Cleaned and oiled before using. Ran about 300 rounds, 115,124 grain FMJ Blazer, Win, no issues. Still need to run various brand JHP rounds to find the best fit. Good grip size, perfect for larger hands. Was looking for something between a compact and subcompact that allowed pinky to rest on grip and still mitigated snappy recoil felt with smaller subcompacts. Impressed with quality of finish and function for price. Trigger take up and reset seemed good enough to me. Red dot for manual safety not placed on slides anymore. This was confirmed by a Taurus rep on the phone. Not a concern for me, but can be confusing when seeing the pics online and in the manual, if you even use the manual safety. Changed out the plastic recoil guide rod/spring with Lakeline LLC SS and added Hogue HandAll beaver tail grip for tighter and "stickier" grip. Helped with recoil slightly and grip, improving accuracy. Re-strike capability is nice, but never used it yet, except for dry firing. Some users complained about feed issues with the feed ramp, due to imperfections on their ramp. I have not seen or experienced issues with my feed ramp. Barrel rifling had rusty color before and after first cleaning, but disappeared after firing. The sights can be changed out with metal Glock compatible fiber or night sights which is a huge plus. Magazines are really tight to load 11th and 12th rounds new. Mag loader recommended until they break in, and they break in well after using. Easy to break down and clean/oil. Plenty of aftermarket part upgrades and accessories, as this model has been out a while. This handgun beats the "you get what you pay for", IMO.

  • Caveat - I had to send mine back to the factory to get fixed - mine had an extraction issue where it couldn't make it through a full magazine without a jam. The whole process took about 8 weeks with no communication from Taurus. On paper - this gun is a titan of value - it comes with 3 mags, it uses glock sights - it has an OK trigger, it gets great capacity. It's somewhere between a slimline gun and a true double stack in size. The size is a very good "goldilocks" size with amazing grip texture. The trigger is a double action / single action. What that means is the first trigger pull if the gun is decocted is about a half pound heavier and the take up to the wall is about a pound heavier. In my gun that's a 5# single action and 5.5# double action with a 2# take-up vs a 3# take-up. If this gun worked out of the box - I'd give it 5 stars because it's tough to argue with the value the pistol delivers on - the design is really strong. The execution on the chamber cutting of my model was unfortunately lacking. I'd give Taurus another shot - but I'd open to the fact it might have to go in for work.

shipping is like $30 and they barely give a discount on multiple guns, I think it's like $5 off shipping on each additional gun.

Still.. this is probably the cheapest place to get these (in the end) but only just, not as hot as it looks after you factor in shipping.

although the gun is a solid buy.

If Dahlonega Armory charges you sales tax (like they do me) and you don't live in Alabama you should be able to get this pistol at a little better price from Family Firearms. https://www.familyfirearms.com/product/tau...

Smith keeps coming out with new sub's. I like my shields 45 and 9mm. Everyday carry. I have no intention of changing that.

Nice little pistol for vehicle, paid about $220 about a year ago. The trigger leaves a lot to be desired

7/31/22: $29.99 for shipping is a non-starter for a 2-3lb box. It's a teaser price. NCCA has free shipping on all guns, very good pricing and some free goodies that make it worth the membership fee. https://www.nccabuyersclub.com/...

This company charges $29.99 for shipping!!! On a $200 gun! That's 15% of the sale! lol! Shipping on handguns should be no more than $15 or $20 at most. Looks like they're buffing their cheaper pricing by over charging on shipping.

The "company" is a small family owned Pawn Shop in the sticks of North Georgia. I doubt they're doing enough business with shippers to get a price break on shipping fees like large retailers who ship tons of stuff do.

Their prices are good without the shipping, but I could even look the other way if it was flat shipping..

    but I loaded up a black g3c, a stainless g3c, and a odg g3

so that's 3 guns and I think the shipping was like $75 iirc.

so their combined shipping charges are total balls. does it really cost 20-25 dollars per additional gun when you're already shipping 1?
I mean 3 hands guns are smaller and lighter than your typical shotgun.

Their things ship directly from the distributor. Everything is second day air.

I figured they had stuff drop-shipped. The building they operate out of is small. I've seen 2 or 3 of their 'deals' posted here that I would have bought if they would have had the products in stock at their store. I live close enough to them to make the trip worthwhile by saving me shipping and transfer fees. So far, that hasn't worked-out.
