Yep grabagun raised the price to this^^ BOO. I bet they were selling like hot cakes and now they got rid of enough excess...
Sold out here but same gun now at SFArmory at an even better price of $372.22 and $16.95 s/h, for a delivered price of $389.28! Wow!!

Dangit...sold out when I went back to order! Looks like Tanner's Sports Center in PA will have 250 in stock tomorrow and shipping is $20. Anyone seen any other places that have these in stock at the $399.99 price and less than $20 for shipping (preferably with the convenience of online ordering)?
Yeah, I love 5 minutes from them... really trying not to make another gun purchase but they usually have some pretty good deals on non-ammo.
I own several higher end 1911's and couldn't pass up on one of these Taurus' that I found new in local shop. 700 or so rounds later, it's functioned flawlessly. Fit and finish are on par with my custom shop Kimber. At $399 it's an absolute steal.
Should I go with this Taurus or this Rock Island Tactical for only $30 more as a first 1911?
In my experience, the Taurus is a far superior gun.
My local shop just got 250 of these in stock and are charging $399 also, so I may pick one up for fun since even with tax it's cheaper than this deal with shipping and FFL fees.
Thanks to both of you guys...i have researched as well and for warranty and the price, i dont think you can go wrong...I own a Taurus pt-92 ss and have not had a problem with it in over 1000 rds...i guess for me its just a matter of price because this will be my first 1911 as well...thanks again and to Darkalley-keep up the good work and be safe

I own this pistol and speaking from experience, it's nothing short of fucking amazing. Locally, I paid $200 more than here including tax, but have not one regret as it's performance for the price is phenomenal. I also like putting hands on the exact pistol I'm buying so there's no surprises. No failures, no bullshit "break-in excuses", it has been FLAWLESS for 200 rounds. In fact, I reluctantly skipped the ceremonial first cleaning and took it straight from the cash register to the indoor range (no cleaning) where on the 3rd and 4th mags, the gun shot two milk jug cap sized holes, that's HOLES (no flyers) once I figured out the sights.
Money WELL spent.
If that's a little too rich for your blood, try the Springfield Standard Mil Spec... word has it it's a great 1911 to build on and if it's anything close to the RO, it'll be light years ahead of the Taurus.

A cheap 1911 is like a novelty, glow in the dark rubber... You'll feel better protected with one than without, but if it breaks while firing hot loads and busting guts, you're fucked.
