Why don't you want the manual safety? You don't have to use it. I was thinking either this in 9mm or the xds9

It is a matter of preference. I have three Shields for various locations and uses and all three have the manual safety. After three years of daily use I have never accidentally activated the safety. I do activate the safety when they are not on my person. Get what you feel comfortable with. I've shot 1911s for years and am quite used to a safety.

A manual safety can be accidentally switched 'on'. It could literally cost you your life if you go to use it and aren't used to switching a safety off. A safety doesn't belong on this gun for that reason IMO.

I found this video that pretty much sums it up:

Nice deal with the Free Shipping IF you don't live in TX (Lambos is a good vendor but in TX so we have to add 8.75% to the price) and you don't want the manual safety.

Anyone have a 40, I bought one when they first came out, and got rid of it. It dropped mags after every 2nd or 3d shot, and I didn't want to play that game like with the XDS, that took 6 months. If they fixed the 40 I would buy one, all my guns are 9mm or 45, and I want one 40, have plenty of food for it.

Shot a 40 of my dads. Put 4 mags through it of hst and reloads. Had no problem with mag drop. Think that s&w has fixed that problem.
