Ported barrel at night = 1 accurate shot. Make it count. For the price, Walther is a better choice.

I have the PC and the trigger alone is worth the upgrade. I'm so so on the sights, and the porting does help stay on target - but gets dirty quickly. I became more impressed once I shot it side by side with my father in law's G43 - the PC Shield was simply easier to shoot - not too much off from my G19...

Been seeing a few videos popping up of shooters gets peppered in the face with shit from these models. My buddy has one that I've shot quite a bit. I haven't personally experienced that, just something to look into. What most concerns me with the porting is the flash direction in low light. I've owned the regular shield for about 3 years now. I got night sights, TLR6, and 1 extra 8rd mag for the price difference of the PC and regular model. The trigger sucks but not to the point I'm going to drop $100+ on replacing it. Doesn't seem to reliably feed any polymer tipped rounds that I've tried. Mostly tried the Hornady variety. XTP feeds well though. Aside from that, it's very reliable. Accuracy is surprisingly good also!

The original Shield is so easy shooting I can't imagine needing the ported model or why you'd need a better trigger. It's not a target gun for sure but mine damn sure doesn't need any upgrades. If anything those junk sights should make the price lower than the standard model ;)

Its a deal if u think that ported and HI-Vis sights are worth an extra $175? Shields were going for $225 this summer. Cabelas is a show room like Best Buy.

S&w did that rebate for a little bit but prices have been back to normal. Besides, aren't some people still trying to get their rebate check from s&w?

Performance center shield is FAR better gun than the regular shield. Way better trigger, better sights and a much more controllable firearm.

I would get one, but how many 9mm small pistols does one require. I know I have 5. And even though it's a nice gun and all, by the time you buy extra 2 or 3 mags, and holsters etc, you spent 700+ on another gun that does the same thing that the rest do.
It's what makes the world go round, "People buying things on impulse", that they don't really have any need for.
Now that Trump is in, I see prices falling 20-30%. Last week they were up 10% in one day.
Having been a Trader, I can't help but notice these trends.
Now if you just hold off buying things you don't actually need, you should be able to really score in a couple of months.
No one expected Trump to win, "I have been a supporter from day 1", but we really weren't thinking it would happen with the biased meda. But now we find ourselves in a very interesting position, as Gun companys, stores, suppliers etc, have a lot of over supply with buyers not buying due to the threat being dispersed.
I also feel that this gun with the ported barrell should have night sights on it, because after you fire it, "especially at night, you won't be able to see the front sight because of the plast and fireball.
The sights "high viz" it comes wit are great during the day, but even better would be a laser on this gun, for the same reason. You will be temprarilly blinded by the muzzle blast. All ported guns have this problem which is why many Professionals stay away from them.

You can buy this from PSA for $329, this is not a deal. OK, didn't realize it had the fiber optic sights, so it's an OK deal.

This is the performance model Shield of which includes an upgraded trigger, ported barrel/slide and as you mentioned the Fiber Optic Sights - not only is this gun rare to find in stock but at local FFL's carry this with a price tag of $499... and sell them all day
