I’ve had the Smith for a couple of years and it runs great, but I’ve been eyeing that Taurus hard lately because of the magazine capacity.
I am happy with the deal. I stopped by PSA yesterday in Columbia, SC and since the store matches the online prices, it picked mine up for a penny shy of 270 USD, all in (no additional FFL fee). The required Firearms Transaction Record form (Form 4473) is computerized which helps if you have purchased in the store previously (some items are become pre-loaded). With a valid South Carolina CWP, no NICS check is required. Very easy transaction. Looking forward to getting to my range with this little guy and comparing it against my Walther/Colt 1911 Government Model .22lr
Great price for S&W quality. This will be a perfect intro gun for new shooters at the range. I’m not thrilled about the ship time but that’s ok considering what we are paying.
Just got mine today. Wasn’t too fond of the 20$ FFL fee and more tax (20 and change), but enjoyed very much testing out my new favorite addition.
Love this gun, as do my grand-kids. Every friend that I let shoot this pistol has gone out and bought their own.
Palmetto "deal" - ya, not so much. $250 + 17 Shipping (yes really!) + $18 taxes (for me) = NO Deal here.
Great pistol to train beginners with. Easy, cheap, and accurate to shot.
Gun mag warehouse and grab a gun has mags for this for 19.99. Usually in the 30 plus range.
Great gun! Really a joy to shoot. I paid over $325 for mine all in.
Very happy with this. Not one single jam after more than a year and many many rounds.
Mine doesn't like lower power rounds, but it'll handle anything over 1100fps all day long. Nice plinker!
Bought one several months ago. Great little gun.
SWEET BUT I PREFER THE RUGER SR22 LR 4.5 MOST RELIABLE HANDGUN..
I've seen this described as being 15% smaller than the full size model. Does anybody know if this means 15% grip width/depth (i.e. for smaller hands)?
No reply and the Smith website doesn't answer the question either so oh well. I introduce new shooters using 22LR and quite a few with smaller hands don't even try the "full size" M&P 22. I was hoping to have another answer for them. I've sent an email to S&W asking about full specifications but no joy so far I'm guessing they are overwhelmed handling the holiday season =)
Kind of wish S&W made a single stack 9mm in these dimensions.
The S&W Shield is pretty much the same size. That's whay I carry it and practice with the MP22C.
I missed their last deal a few days ago,I wanted to kick myself. Lasted a few hours tops. Glad I could get it this time. Thanks PSA! Please stop having deals though! Your making me poor! 3rd firearm purchase in 3 days! The old lady is going to be pissed when she finds out.
I registered just to say THANK YOU! I've been at my computer looking for this particular gun to go on someones black friday sale but couldnt find it. THANKS AGAIN, can't wait.
These were on sale for the same price last month and I kicked myself for not snagging at least one. So glad I was able to score 2 today, and they already left PSA via 2nd Day Air! Also ordered 4 Stevens shotguns...these guys have some smokin deals!
Shows 339 + 17 shipping. Guess I'll have to wait til next time.
Got one today. Hopefully it isn't buried under thousands of other black friday orders and I get it before Christmas.
always surprising deals from Palmeto.
I didnt think I would see this model come up for sale this year since it is so new. I picked one up and the rebate for ammo is just icing on the cake.
Decent deal but only $20 below the price of the SR22 which is what this gun is designed to compete against. Don't confuse this with the current full size M&P 22 which came with one Magazine.
Cheapest price this year so far. The SR22 is more in the subcompact category. Whereas the new M&P 22 Compact still resembles a full size in looks and ergonomics. Both guns have true heavy barrels instead of shrouded pencil barrels. So both are excellent to own.
The gun was released on August 12 so prices should be falling:

Dimensionally, the guns look very close, I've only seen 2 you-tube reviews and both were positive.
Looks almost too good to be true. $100 less than competitor's price?
Kept seeing this deal then ended up buying the Taurus TX22. Never thought I’d choose a Taurus over smith for a comparably price gun. I’ll know soon how good or bad my choice was.
