Originally developed for the U.S. Military, the EP6 Earplugs has Noise Reduction Rating (NRR) of 24dB. EP6's unique design blocks potentially harmful sound levels while allowing safe levels to still be heard, so you can talk with those around you. Patented Hocks Noise Braker® filters prevent potentially harmful noises above 85 dB (like the scream of a high-performance engine) from entering into your ear canal, while safe sound levels below 85dB are allowed to pass through and can be heard. To block lower-level sounds and noise in quieter situations, such as in an airplane or while sleeping, the attached stoppers can be inserted for an NRR of 24 dB. Uses for application which loud noises can be hazardous to hearing such as, power tools, hammering, chain sawing, grinding, sanding, heavy machinery etc. Made of hypoallergenic, durable, and soft silicone rubber, the low profile ergonomically designed EP6 Earplugs are comfortable to wear all day long. The EP6 Earplugs are available in medium and large sizes.

I have trouble with these coming out of my ears when shooting sporting clays - however I LOVE the EP7s.

Worked fine for me on the trap range.

Waste of money left my ears ringing after the range.

I had the same response with mine, I can't tell the difference when they're on or off. I paid $18 a pair, waste of money for me. .

Flyinfini: not sure what size were mine, but it appeared to be fit ok but it's just not blocking the noise even during outdoor shooting. Good that worked for you, but certainly not me. Should have return them but now it's been over a year. Wasted my money

My personal experience with this is that you must wear an extra protection such as "hard ear" in order to not have buzz ears after the range. I only wore these and my ears were ringing for almost 48 hours.

jlp, Did you plug in the tiny red little cap when you used them? (Had to ask) I think that this particular model (EP6) is not as good as their triple flanged models. I own EP3 and EP7's, in fact I generally only use the EP7's as I prefer the foam to the polymer flange.

The reason I don't like these EP6's is the double flange doesn't work nearly as well as a triple flange, it's easier to put in, at the expense of lesser performance. In the Army they issue us triple flanged, these days their fielding those TCAPS advanced ear buds. Haven't tried them but I'd like to.

I love the EP7's, said this before, but its a shame many indoor ranges prohibit these from being used due to insurance regulations.

The EP7s (foam) are awesome, especially given my taste for flat-shooting w/ loud comps.
These might be a pistol-only affair if they don't seal well.

Are you sure you 1. have the right size, and 2. were wearing them properly? I use the EP5 and haven't had any issues wearing them without additional protection.
