A compensator is designed to take the high-energy propellant gasses from firing a round and redirect them in a way that reduces muzzle rise, felt recoil, or both. What if your comp could do more? Enter the Strike Industries Mass Driver Compensator! Unlike traditional handguns compensators, the Mass Driver's unique advanced design pushes forward as the slide kicks back. Now it not only redirects the propellant gasses to keep your muzzle flat, the reciprocating mass of the compensator pushing away from the slide helps to counteract felt recoil! The Mass Driver was designed to match the dimensions of your slide, allowing it to be used with popular open-bottom holsters, and can be installed without needing a threaded barrel or any permanent modification to your firearm.

Features:

- Fits Glock Gen 3 G17 full size handguns
- Counter recoil design
- Snag-free blended design
- Precision CNC machined steel construction
- Tough Manganese Phosphate finish
- 50 state legal
- Does not require threaded barrel
- Does not require permanent modification
Note:Not compatible with Gen4/5 handguns

Comp ur gun correctly. Use consistent ammo. Don’t expect consistency when you’re changing velocity with different weight/charges. Remember comp vs bullet weight vs barrel length vs powder load will determine your end result. Caexpect

I put one on my G17 gen 3 OEM frame and slide and it worked great. I put together a Lone Wolf Industries TWF-F frame with a Rockslide USA non-cut slide and bullet impacts were over 8" apart. I was shooting Fiocchi 115 gr FMJ and I could see gold marks in the comp. I believe the bullets were hitting the sides. I was using a Lone Wolf SS barrel and there was quite a bit of slop left to right as well as up and down with the slide. After 15 rounds the plastic insert in the frame that is for gen 3 models popped out and became wedged in the comp. I took the comp off and found cracks and chips in the front of my frame where the comp was slamming back home. I reached out to Primary Arms and Strike Industries. I'm sure it is more than likely my fault for using 2 different brands and the Rockslide USA slide is cut at an angle. With the Glock OEM slide being square the comp fit better against that and no frame damage.

I got one on my g19, gen 3.
I still shoot pretty accurately, it doesn’t seem like it’s throwing rounds all over.
I got it because I like to use my g19 as my “race” gun. This comp and my apex trigger, make follow up shots so smooth and fast!

This is a normal price at 80$ but I want one

Beware: this will make your gun less accurate.

After seeing many reviews of horrible accuracy with this comp, I have a very good theory as to why:

Typically, the muzzle device is directly attached to the barrel, but in this case, it is attached to the recoil spring, allowing variation of concentricity to the barrel from shot to shot. This WILL affect accuracy, whether or not it's the full story, I don't know.

It is disappointing that Strike would release a product like this. Either they didn't test it, or they didn't care and didn't disclose it. Moves like this lead to losing my trust and my business.

So what's your theory?

Ragnar_Danneskjold stated (and I thought rather clearly) "Typically, the muzzle device is directly attached to the barrel, but in this case, it is attached to the recoil spring, allowing variation of concentricity to the barrel from shot to shot. This WILL affect accuracy, whether or not it's the full story, I don't know."

Basically the position of the muzzle device is NOT fixed relative to the barrel. From shot to shot, the compensator moves, relative to the barrel, so it alters the point of impact. Makes complete sense.

Now, who knows how much. Is it an 5" @ 5' or 5" @ 100'. That really begs the question.

Well that's odd. When I first saw the post it was cut off after "...why"
EDIT: So on desktop there's no indication that there's more text than the 3 lines that are visible unless you hover over the comment. Normally text fades out, but it doesn't if there's 2 lines followed by a line break

I love Hop's reviews in general; here's a link to his views on the Mass Driver: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k2VzGlGbctQ&feature=emb_logo...

thanks for the link! thats a weird setup and didn't think it would throw the grouping off that much! Good review.

I dont have one of these comps but i have read many negative reviews all over the internet. If you want one id highly recommend looking up some reviews first.

It says Gen 3, any way it would work on a Gen 5 or is that just wishful thinking?

Nope

What are the advantages of having a compensator?

Redirects gases, reduces felt recoil and muzzle rise. Allowing faster target acquisition.

Be aware: many bad reviews of this saying it hugely effects point of impact. (one said 1 foot at 15 yards)

Which is baffling to me (no pun intended) since this breaks unique design doesn’t even directly attach to the barrel. A 1ft delta at 45ft change of impact makes it sound like the round would have to be hitting the device as it exits, as that’s a huge change. Do the reviews show the device being impacted internally or at the ends? The equivalent of a baffle strike on a break should be very obvious.

Are you finding video reviews or more along the lines of forums?

Both. Started with HonestOutlaw, but then checked others. Pretty disappointing, was excited about this product and potentially future similar products.
