This light is one of the best weapon lights I have ever used (including the 3 different high end Surefire's that are lacking lumens IMO). The price is also EXCELLENT for what you get, and the warranty is lifetime! Can't beat that with a stick... :)
Can this be hooked to a tape switch and used as a weapon light on a rifle?
Yes, I have one on my AR pistol right now! This light is BRIGHT as hell and worth every single penny of the asking price! They also sell a version that has the tape switch and has the pic mount included (which may be cheaper after finding the tape switch). Streamlight could give you the part number you are looking for though...
Flashlight is great - got for XMAS and it runs great on the CR123A's or the Streamlight 18650 rechargeable. This is a low price with a free keychain flashlight too.
Body is 1 inch according to SL's fact sheet on this light. Pretty easy to mount it to a rail in that case.
However, a tape switch is not listed as an accessory.
