This is not a 10 round capacity pistol in .45. .45 is 8+1, 9mm is 9+1.

At $554 shipped I couldn't pass on this deal. Ordered on Friday and got shipping confirmation the next day. The hardest part of this purchases is getting it past the wife. Sorry chirojr that you paid over $700 ,but that's the way it goes sometime. Hopefully Lady Luck will visit you soon.

Is this the model that has a plastic trigger guard? I am guessing so..Whats the difference between this and a RIA tactical? It cant be as good of a gun as the STI guns made in the states or no one would fork over 3-4 times as much money for the stateside guns..

plastic trigger guard?Never heard of such a thing on a steel framed gun.It has a plastic trigger as does all of its high dollar 1911's.This is what they do & it is a fine trigger i must add.I always find myself clicking on these posts although i already have one.I think I do it because i paid over 700$ & these deals make me sick b/c i should have waited. The guns is assembled there & then shipped back for STI to do their quality control on it.It is in no way comparable to RIA.Same factory putting the pieces together but how anyone thinks that the quality /accuracy& reliability are now the same is beyond me.By the way STI warrenty for life.I called multiple times. They stand by their products 2,000$ or 550$.Get one & thank me later buddy.

I agree with your post except the STI Spartans aren't assembled in the Phillipines like the RIA 1911's.
Only the STI frames and slides are made there then shipped bare and unassembled to STI, ALL!! assembly and fitting is done in Texas by STI themselves with quality STI parts.

Wow such stupidity with this comment. STI makes one of the best 1911's out there for the money. I own a 9mm Trojan and I enjoy it more than my Wilson. Over 4k flawless rounds through it.

Wow buddy. Please keep thinking this. This gun is the the best 1911 for the money, hands down..I researched this gun for a month before buying it.It is my best & smoothest shooting gun in the safe.Outshoots everything I have & all
of my friends high dollar 1911's.Same as ATI....LOL.Good luck with that.By the way their customer service is outstanding. They will not put their name on anything that is not looked over by them.Tell that to the STI shooting team ( who shoot 2,000-3,000$ dollar set ups) who couldnt get their hands off of it.

Couldn't agree more. STI guns are excellent. I once bought a RIA TCM thinking it would be similar in quality because it was made in Phillippines like the STI. The RIA was a huge piece of crap compared to the STI. Fit and finish doesn't even compare.
I have an STI Trojan 9mm and bought my son an STI Spartan 9mm I paid over $1100 for my Trojan and less than $600 for his Spartan his Spartan shoots every bit as good.
The Trojan has front checkering and a nicer finish but the Spartan shoots every bit as good for a fraction of the cost.
This is hands down the best 1911 you can buy for less than $1000. And I have owned numerous through the years.
If it has STI stamped on it you now it is a quality firearm.

Amen brother.I searched high & low for one bad review & not once did I find a person who didnt love theirs.Im not sure if I want people to know that though.LOL.I went to a local gun shop.I walked up & said "i want that STI right there."The guy looked to his buddy & said thats how you sell a gun.It got another customers attention & a few others. He asked about it & i proceeded to give them an STI lecture. My buddy went to get his the next day & the A-hole store owner raised the price 100$ & I learned my lesson.Keep my mouth shut.

This is a great gun. I have the STI Spartan in 9mm and LOVE it. It is a shooter and so far has fed EVERYTHING I have ran through it with ZERO malfunctions.

If this was made in the US I would be all over it, but these are made in the Philippines.

I read online that the frame is made by Armscor in Philippines, by same company that makes Rock Islands. I'm not saying that this is bad, I have a Rock Island 1911 and I love it, although this STI has lots of cool upgrades.

RIA is nice for the price, but a little rough around the edges, physically and figuratively.
