Very nice crisp trigger. Actually because of it I am using same lower on my 20" DMR set up.
This model is sub moa factory guaranteed. one of my favorites.
Are these any good? Anyone have any experience with them?
I don't have the complete rifle but I do have the Model 6 upper on a generic $80 lower. It's a tackdriver, but it's also heavy as hell. I don't do any off hand shooting with mine because it just weighs too much.
But if you're looking for something to shoot off a bench, I highly recommend it. This is a fantastic price. Plus, complete Stag rifles have lifetime warranties. Including the barrel.
Any comment about not having a forward piece of rail (front gas block rail/ full length rail system); so you don't have a back-up front sight post mounted... for a bench rest/ range shooter, I can see that it would be the end of the day if your primary optic fails/ mount comes loose, etc... and to take it out to the field to shoot gophers/ coyotes... heavy and only one sighting system. What do you think?
Optic failing mentality is like a car breaking down mentality. You can't stop doing what you doing just cause something may break down. And if you cant shake it off - carry an extra one. And tools to install it.
As of weight - it is a heavy stick. But hey big guys with big guns right? I know I look silly with 10/22 in my hands.
It is what it is. I've never had a mount come loose on a properly mounted scope. But even still, I do have a small set of allen wrenches in my range bag just in case I do need to perform any adjustment. But if I did have an optic failure, it would end the day. For that rifle at least.
As far as out in the field, I wouldn't want to carry it very far. A good sling would be important. And either a bipod or a pair of shooting sticks as well.
Im sure they are, but i cant say for sure. I know a friend has a Stag AR and he loves it.
Thanks for all the input , I just ordered one. I have a supply of Federal 69 grain GMM, and Hornady 75 grain match to try it out with.
