I like simple kind of gun cabinet like this, right now I am just only using modified one with a custom door from our exterior door that I got at http://caldwells.com/exterior-doors.
Parrowman has a point. However, I have to agree with Fwbrc51, save the money for a sturdier and heavier safe. Trust me; you won’t regret it and you’ll be a lot happier at the end. I'm also on a budget and for $100 more I ended up getting the Stack-On Products 24-Gun Fire & Waterproof Safe with Door Storage at Wally World on sale for $499 shipped. It’s currently at $549 (out of stock) but it’s a much better safe than the one for $399.
Man, thats like saying dont buy a civic because it isnt fast enough. save up for a ferrari. This is why different models and grades exist. not everyone has the money for top of the line stuff and make do with what they can afford.
A safe is a different market. You put most of your valuables to a single location. A robber will go straight to your safe and do what they can to open it. This China made safe can easily be opened with a long crowbar in less than 15 minutes. Not worth the money unless you are just trying to keep kids or quick burglaries out. In that case, might as well just get a cabinet witha lock for half the cost.
I am on board with Fwbrc51, save up for a heavier and more sturdy safe. In addition to what he said this safe weighs only 250 lbs. Even with a full load of guns a thief with a dolly or a pair of thieves can just walk out of your house with this safe.
This 250 pound thing is junk. Give it one knock like a front door and you'll understand what I mean. You're better off spending a little more to get something better.

I have been using this safe for over 5 yeara. Does the job as advertised. No ragrets. ;-) Gonna buy another one to match my first one.
