How thick is that steel?

Not a bad deal, but I think the 10 gun version also sold at Walmart gives you more space for your money at $91.86 with free shipping or pickup. It also comes preassembled.

This is a good deal, but when I got mine in it was missing the lock and the keys. I carefully looked through all of the materials because I had seen other reviews mentioning this. I called Stack-On and was able to talk to someone right away. They took my info and said they will start processing it. We will see how long it takes them to get me the missing parts.

$70 now, good deal. Lots of people use this for ammo storage, just make some shelves at home.

I have one of these. As pointed out, it is a nice locking CABINET not a safe. This is a good place to store some of your less valuable rifles, your Mosins or sks or what have you in order to make some room in your big boy safe. It might also be a good place to lock up some ammo, reloading components, etc. I have mine bolted to the basement floor.

Did yours come with a 3 point locking system? Also could it withstand a prybar for a good 10-15 minutes? They say home burglars usually are in and out in around 15minutes or less so this would be better than guns on The floor so long as it can take a little bit of a beating

lol.. most "safes" can't even hold up to a pry bar attack for 15mins.

This is a sheet metal locker similar to what you'd find in a office.

It'll keep kids and honest people out.. a burglar with a pry bar is probably in it in about 30-60 seconds.

It might stop the snatch and run burglars, but anyone willing to spend a minute or two on it will get in.

As I said in my post, a great locking cabinet.......not a safe. I would certainly consider this better than nothing, as you stated. My hope and dream is for a burglar to see this thing and think GUN SAFE and fixate on it, and completely miss the real safe hiding behind a false facade

I own a similar cabinet (14 gun and welded seams) with probably the same door. It's going to take a burglar 3 pry's on his prybar to pop the 3 latch points. Maybe 4 or 5 attempts if his prybar is worn or he can't get a good bite in the groove. 15 minutes of straight beating would leave this cabinet flattened.

I also bought the 14 gun version & it can hold 5 large plastic cabelas ammo boxes & 14 small Plano model ammo boxes 7 in the front of the 5 & the other 7 on the side. Great for ammo. Mine was the high one shelf version which I chose not to use. Buy what you need. I always go a little bigger.

Agreed 100%. This might delay a random B&E by a crack addict with a screw driver for a few min. A guy with even a shorty pry bar will tear this apart in 3-6 pry attempts.

These are really move along the lines of keeping things away from little fingers, random houseguests, and snatch and grab B&Es. A badguy with a pry bar is not going to be deterred by this.

Does this come with 3 shelves?

no, the picture is wrong. This one is smaller, it has just a single shelf across at the top, and a small rifle racks on each side of the cabinet.

I bought a small size cabinet with a craftsman doors designs at http://caldwells.com/exterior-doors/craftsman-doors, I would love to use as another compartment for my safe, is it advisable to do so, so it at least conceal the vaults and lure any intruders without them knowing there is a safe inside the cabinet.

This is a great price. This thing is normally $158 at WalMart. I picked it up for sale for $120 from Tractor Supply a few months ago. I don't have kids mind you, but all my rifles were leaned up in corners, and this cabinet was exactly what I needed to keep my rifles all in one place and out of sight. The ammo cabinet that Stack-On sells is excellent too. That ones been going on sale lately for great prices.

safes like these are like leaving a laptop in the front seat of your car....just waiting for a quick smash and grab....no thanks.

As another poster already pointed out, these are not safes; they are cabinets. They are not meant to protect firearms and other items from fire or determined burglars. They are meant to provide a safe place to store firearms and other items so that they cannot be accessed by children or other family members.

Pretty much any actual safe under $1000 won't stop a determined burglar with tools. This cabinet might take him 5 min, a $800 safe will take him 15 min...

I'm pretty sure for someone to open an 800 dollar safe it would take a lot of knowledge on safes and a skilled thief, most thieves are stupid degenerate dropouts or drug addicts who aren't very smart, now this safe, If it can't withstand atleast a pry bar or screwdriver I'd say it's kind of worthless

As already mentioned, this is not a safe. It is a cabinet. It's meant to keep firearms clean and out of the hands of other family members, such as children.

this actually has 3point locking system according to walmarts description, have you bought one and is that true? If so i may buy one I'll have to check it out in store, my mosins took over and this would be better than under the bed

I get that but it should atleast lock somewhat better like say three points, I'm considering this safe but if it can't even stand a screwdriver I'm thinking I'll spend the extra 2-3 hundred bucks on a real safe

this is not a safe, this is a cabinet

That first picture is deceiving... the cabinet for sale is not represented by the two open-door items.

Agreed. Those two open door items appear to be from the 18 gun convertible cabinet.
