The same safe is $450 at Home Depot. Not much of a deal here on Amazon

Not much a sales price considering the parent company filed bankruptcy this year. Support going forward is questionable.

EMP event? Skeleton key? James bond is not coming to your house. A safe like this is a deterrent to a methhead burglar. That's all. Oh, bolt it down too. Hehe

A "skeleton key" is a master or pass key. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skeleton_key...
If all you had to do is remove electronic combo and use a " skeleton key", what is the point of the electronic combination? Anyone w/ a " skeleton key" would have access. The "key" that was supplied w/ my higher end manual safes, is used to align the tumblers when I change combinations. Another " key" is used to access safe in lieu of combination if repeated openings are warranted. A "day key". Anyway, a EMP event would essentially render this safe a "gun coffin" at the time you're going to need what is inside the most. I don't know what kind of safe you have, but I don't think YOU are entirely correct either.

Keep a torch handy for an emp event. That electronic combo will keep everyone out. Or use a rare earth magnet.

That’s not entirely correct, as far as I know it comes with two skeleton keys as back up but you have to remove the keypad facing. The keys are for back-up only but could be used every day. I have another model FSW-24-GP-E-S and it has been an exceptional safe for under $500.

Actually, the easiest way to get into these, without the combo, is to take a metal shim, wedge it into the gap on the right side of the door near the keypad and hit the combo reset button inside, make your new combo and you're in. If you open one the "proper" way you will see the button inside.
I am not aware if they fixed this in later models. It's a big vulnerability for any thief with half a brain or access to YouTube. And with some practice it's faster than a skeleton key or pry bar.

They "fixed" it. The reset button now has a red plastic cap that snaps over the top so you can't push it with the door closed...

Needless to say, this is as safe as their sheet steel cabinet lockers... Add sheet rock, and lots of price hike.
As far as liberty being so great... All I can say is I've seen lots of them, bought a pentagon safe. The fact that mine weighs twice as much as a liberty, and probably five times as much as this one.
And yes, I own three steel cabinet lockers, and use them as such. Keeps the kids out/gives my dogs time to figure out who gets what end of you first, and best of all, keeps folks off you butt about what you brought home this time!
They all serve a purpose. But a fire rated "safe" / vault.. This is not.

If you have a walmart gun collection, buy a walmart safe. If you have a real gun collection, buy a real safe.

These are crap. You're better off buying a locking stack on cabinet and using the extra money to save towards a real safe.

It doesn't.

How does this compare to other $600 - 700 options like Liberty?

Surprisingly they are very close, because they are both cheap junk. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v627/a1abdj/libertyburglary1.jpg...
