I just bought from Smoky mountain knife works
One of their Spyderco byrd's it's a knife it does what it's supposed to do.
Just all this Chinese crap saddens me at a $25 price point the Spyderco name should not be on it.

Feels like going on a motorcycle poker run where everybody's riding on their Harleys and you show up on a Chinese Wong dong Chow Chow motorcycle yeah you're cruising on two wheels doing what you're supposed to but in the end you know you're not cruising on a real bike I will never have the respect of other bikers.

in all honesty I don't know why they don't work out a deal to sell these Chinese made spyderco's at Walmart.

Not everything coming out of China is crap. Chinese manufacturers have really upped their game in the last several years. I've got two Ganzo Firebird knives made from Chinese D2 with G10 handles and they are both well built bargains at less than $25. And I tried to adjust a USA made Buck flipper for a coworker who spent twice that on it, but the action was so bad and detent so unsafe that I suggest he return it.

I don't dislike this knife because it made in China. I dislike it because the quality of the steel is poor, it's overpriced for what it is, and, IMHO, Spyderco is banking on people buying it because their name is on it.

I'm just not willing to pay $25 plus shipping for any tiny keychain knife made out of 3Cr13, even with the Spyderco name on it.

Don't get me wrong, I love the Spyderco Byrd line, especially the Byrd Cara Cara 2 I got in all stainless for $24 shipped a few years ago. At least it's big enough to be a knife, well built and made out of 8Cr13MoV. Spyderco does an outstanding heat treatment on 8Cr13MoV to bring out the best in this budget Chinese stainless. But, come on, 3Cr13? Really? In nail file size?
