Featuring a 16" chrome moly vanadium Melonite-finished barrel, chambered in .223 Rem./5.56 NATO with 1:8 twist with incredible accuracy. Built with a direct impingement midlength gas system for smooth shooting, less recoil, and reliability. Proprietary, enhanced micro polished, nickel boron coated, and a GI-style trigger group with a smooth and consistent trigger pull. The type-III, hard-anodized, corrosion-resistant, 7075 T6 aluminum upper and lower receiver maximize strength while remaining lightweight. The SAINT is optics-ready out of the box. The flat-top receiver is topped with Springfield Armory low profile flip-up dual aperture rear sight and up front, the A2-style gas block and front sight feature a standard post adjustable for elevation. Unlike most AR-15 rifles that leave the factory with standard mil-spec furniture, the SAINT includes meaningful upgrades across the board. The bottom line? When it’s time to protect and defend, trust the SAINT.

Owned a few pistols. Seem as good as any other so why not buy the other guys.

Believe the rifle is probably produced by another company and just rebranded. So just buy the other guys.

Feel free to defend the SF logo. Its your right. Its also my right to refuse to buy. While I might not put them out of business by not buying, Ill add to the pile and eventually if enough people sign on, it will happen.

Great reply. Since you work

Great reply. Since you work hard for your paycheck, absolutely no one should demand you spend it a certain way. Someone is always mad at some company, somewhere. Wal-Mart screws people every day. But I still Shop there. If workers for Dodge is on strike, and I want to buy a new pick-up, too bad. They choose to strike, I choose to spend MY money that I work hard for .

The Saint is way over priced anyways. A DPMS can be had for $350 after rebate. Add $100 for nice add-ons and it will probably last just as long. As for pistols, I like my Springfields better than my Glock 21.

Defending Springfield Armory

Defending Springfield Armory and Rock River Arms?
Here is something you should watch to the end.

You know you really amuse me. You spend all night and most of the day servicing Japanese businessmen at the local airport motel and yet you still find time to sit in front of a computer in your mom's basement and pump out your worthless trash posts. How do you do it?

I am also betting you have

I am also betting you have never owned a Springfield weapon. Otherwise you would know they are pretty damn good quality. And since you have never owned a SA weapon, the company doesn't give a shit about you either. So you won't buy one in the future...who cares??? You weren't helping the company anyway. Go ahead and stick with your Hi-point pistol. And you want them to go to Mexico? I hope they do the same to your job. I get paid either way. Freight needs moved one way or another, son.

I own several, and won't be buying another one. I don't see anyone saying they are not good quality, they are. But they, and RI, were really sneaky about screwing over the gun dealers, while getting themselves exempt. There is no logical way for someone in the shooting community to defend what they did.

It's a great rifle. Pretty much a BCM rifle most parts are BCM and built from BCM specifically for the Saint! Another wishlist item for sure.

I just got one for a similar

I just got one for a similar price. On paper, it is a great deal; not quite an entry level AR15. In hand, this seems put together well and actually reminds me of my BCM Recce.

The upper receiver has the same forge marks. The lower looks similar...but I can't be sure. Parts kits are different; trigger is meh (better than milspec...not as good as PNT or ACT triggers). Mil spec buffer tube, "H" buffer. Bolt and carrier look good: MP and chrome lined gas key. Not sure about the barrel. I prefer the BCM stock and grip to magpul. Just wish BCM would do Mlok; I hate keymod and the handguard looks like the keymod system is weak and soft. Also hate the "saint" logo.

There are a lot of extra features over the M&P15 Sport and the Ruger. I don't see the price falling a lot more. It fills the spot between entry level AR15s and more premium (especially Colt) AR15s.

Nice piece. The people on the video act like they are playing paintball with each other. Not a bad price. If you buy a cheap AR $450 and want the nice grips and add-ons, that is another $100 or so. Add sites an for another $50. And I believe a Springfield is a step up from those cheapies. So $700 compared to $600+ really ain't that bad.

Price is falling fast, seen

Price is falling fast, seen as how it was just released in Nov. However, like a lot of new releases, they are over-priced to begin with. Not many guns can come to market today and do what the Ruger PR and M&P10 have done, where they have sold for as much as double their intro price. The 5.56 AR world is too saturated for such a thing to occur.

I don't think we'll see $500, but possibly mid $500's to high $500's is where this will settle in. Many want to compare it to The AR 5.56, M&P15 Sport II, Expanse or others, but the feature set of the Saint outpaces all of the above, even at a price point if $699.

Your spot on with your

Your spot on with your comment. This is not a 'budget' AR like the Sport 2 or AR 556. With the upgraded buttstock and rails, IMO $700 is a fair price.
