Have you shot a TRP or even held one? They're not your typical 1911 that you might pay $700-$900 for. The fit, finish and trigger are beautiful. You quickly figure what all that hand fitting accomplished. I think TRP's are a great way to get into that upper level of 1911s without paying $2,500-$4,000 for a custom model. I had to pay $1,500 for mine before prices started coming down 4 years ago and don't regret it. Yeah they're a little expensive, but worth it for the extra level of precision you wont get at the lower price level.
I have a TRP (PC9107LP). Probably the best semi-custom 1911 you can buy. SA definitely spends more time on them. They blow production 1911s away. SA hand fits the barrel, slide, and frame. Each of those parts has a number etched into them to show they were mated by hand and belong together. Can't say enough good things about them. As soon as you get one in your hands you will see what I mean. The fit and finish are excellent.
Is it the "PROFESSIONAL?" No. But it is pretty damned good on its own.
