It's not pricey because it's a 10mm, it's pricey because it's one of Springfields top of the line non custom 1911s and it's a long slide.

I have a TRP in 45. It is about as good as it gets for a non-custom/boutique maker 1911. Wife has a springer "loaded" target and it is also badass.

Can someone explain why 10mm is always so pricey for a firearm? I want a 1911 in 10mm but can’t justify the expense compared to .45 and 9mm. This gun looks downright badass btw

You can get 10mm from Armscor for a lot less. But 10mm are more expensive because they must be built better to withstand the 10mm round. Also, you can get a Glock 20/4 for $500 if you shop around. If you want a pistol for 'human' targets, just stay with a 45 or 9mm.

It isn't expensive overall, just typically is in the 1911 platform.

A G20 is $600. That is the best 10mm deal. I hate blocks, but I have a G20 as a sidearm when hunting hogs.

WTF TOO BIG FOR CONCEALED CARRY!!!
Kidding. This thing looks sexy, but that’s a bit more than I’d want to pay

Colt delta elite is what you are looking for then. 5 inch and comes in under $1000.

neighbor has new production colt delta elite and fit n finish is a long way from my early 90's delta elite...
that said, having shot both very recently if I didn't already have a delta elite, it would be a rough call which one to get the TRP or the delta elite even with the price difference

Last Delta Elite I shot from the early 2000s. Seemed okay, but I wasn't a huge fan of it. Colt has been resting on their namesake for too long. Plenty of other companies are making quality pistols without adding a 10-20% markup for the little horse roll mark.
