I'm sure you've seen it, a good alternative close to the same price point is the Colt M45A1, its the Marine Corp 1911 colne. I love that gun, it's a little heavy but I deal with it because it helps with recoil, it's very well build.
Also, it's not Springfield, who sold out on the Illinois firearms community.
Illinois has been selling out the firearms community for a long time. You live in Illinois, you provide them with tax money to create these laws. Don't like that? Move. Simple solution.
Neat pistol, but about $700 too much in my opinion.
I agree with you there. Superb gun, awesome company, way out of my price range.
No Way, A TRP with an action and trigger job. Costs less. This is not a custo, hand made gun, you can get a Baer for 2 grand
Must. Have. One.
And compared to similarly produced 1911 pistols this one is priced very well. Try looking at one made by Ed Brown or DoubleStar, there's a ton of small companies churning out these higher end pistols that charge way too much in my opinion. You can't go wrong with a Springfield, even a bare bones milspec pistol they make would be an excellent addition to a 1911 collection.
