Description

The world’s most elegant carry pistol family just added a new member. For those who emphasize extra-discreet concealed carry, we’re proud to introduce the new Springfield Armory® EMP® Lightweight Champion™ with Concealed Carry Contour.

Back in 2007, the original Springfield Armory® EMP® set a new bar for quality, performance, and style. Combining the near-perfect ergonomics of the time-tested 1911 design with a new patented short-action, the original EMP® redefined what a carry 1911 could be. Among the community of those who know, it has earned a reputation as one of the most shootable compact pistols ever.

I'd find another seller. They said they had my FFL info 11 days ago and were preparing it for shipment. They don't respond to emails, FB messages, and the one time I got a live soul on the phone, they said they didn't see the tracking info but it *should* have shipped, and they would call me right back. Yeah, about that call.Almost ready to initiate a chargeback with my credit card. Never again will I deal with gunprime, the absolute worst customer service.

I've had one for nearly a year. Been stone cold reliable for over 1k rounds of 124grain ball and carry ammo. I got seven mags total from the deal they were offering at Springfield. Not necessarily a go to war pistol but perfect for concealed carry.

I have 2 spinger 1911s and they are both flawless.

I have shot an EMP and it was great.

Just can't get past the capacity and cost. You can get plenty of very high quality, high capacity carry pistols for that price.

I carry a P30S because I like a hammer and a manual safety. I have no doubt it is more reliable than any 1911.

Should I get this,or a master carry pro in 9mm?

Great gun, but I sold mine because it was ultimately "meh" to shoot. That doesn't mean it wasn't accurate. It absolutely had flawless reliability, but the components that made the whole were cheap in my opinion. The sights were borderline Ruger quality, the trigger was nothing special (although far from bad, it just wasn't great), and if I ran any kind of timed drills requiring reloads, it was really freaking hard to cleanly insert a mag into the gun without binding because the magwell is not beveled and there's precious little room for error. Yes, I'm used to DA/SA firearms with staggered/double mags, but I'm also more than proficient with a Commander size 1911 with integral mag beveling. They just work almost naturally by comparison.
Overall, it'd say it's a good firearm to shoot on the range, but I just can't recommend carry; especially with the cheese grater grips- it'll rub you raw (I'm skinny, so it wasn't that it was pressing into my love handles) and ruin a good shirt in no time. I'd go with a Defender sized 1911 .45 any day over this gun.

I have now and have had a few Kimbers over the years. I also have SA pistols. I've had a few more problems with Kimbers than with my SA pistols so there's that. Kimber is only going to repair for a year while SA is a lifetime warranty. I'd go with the SA, personally, and know that you will always have support should you need it. I'd get this deal but gunprime is in my state and therefore I'd have to pay 8.25%. Ouch. I'm still watching for a deal on this elsewhere.

Agree....I have two Springfield 1911 guns and they are 100% reliable. I had one Kimber 1911 and it was an un reliable piece of shit even after being sent back to the factory. Will buy many Springfields in the future could not give me another Kimber.
