Description

The Spike’s Tactical Dynacomp is a 5.56 NATO muzzle device designed to reduce recoil impulse and muzzle climb to provide faster follow up shots. The Dynacomp accomplishes this by redirecting much of the blast along the vertical and perpendicular planes of the muzzle to lower muzzle rise, while the rest of the gas presses hard against the front of the device, thus restricting the gun’s movement to the rear. The ports on the Dynacomp are ball dimpled for smooth expansion of gases and rapid heat dissipation. The front of the device is 0.25" thick to better handle the abuse of full auto and rapid fire. The entire device is Melonite treated for longevity. NOTE: The standard model will bring a 14.5" barrel to legal (non-NFA) length when pinned and welded.

From The Truth About Guns Muzzle Brake Shootout #2

I like a deep black, semi-gloss melonite or nitride finish, and the Spike’s Dynacomp delivers here (they also make it in other finishes, like Nickel Boron). Machining is also near flawless and I’d say I’m generally a fan of this tons-of-tiny-ports aesthetic. Good muzzle control, but some muzzle flash out the front. Although a bit more expensive, the Precision Armament AFAB does seem to provide at least as much muzzle control, more recoil reduction, and zero flash. Solid choice either way, though, for the shooter looking for low concussion, low blast, low flash, plus muzzle control and some recoil reduction.
