The SW99 was developed as a collaboration between Smith & Wesson and Walther that combines a German-made frame with an American-made slide and barrel. Though there are slight variations in aesthetic design, the function of the SW99 is identical to its German-made counterpart, the P99. The pistol features a striker action and has an integrated decocker built into the top of the slide. LE Trade-in. While there is still a lot of life left in these SW99's they were pretty heavily used and show signs of daily use on the force. 1 magazine included. Any firearm that can stand up to daily wear and tear on the force is a trustworthy addition to your collection, whether you plan to use it for personal protection or as a range gun. Law enforcement trade-ins are usually fired less than other used firearms. They have wear from daily duty use, but most LEO only shoot their firearms when qualifying at the range. So, despite mild cosmetic damage from holsters and handling, the barrels and internal components are usually in great condition. Our police trade-ins are a unique opportunity to own a dependable, high-quality firearm at a great price! Law enforcement trade-in's vary in condition. Some will have armory marks, others retain their police department crests, and almost all of them show signs of use (holster wear, nicks, dings, etc.). The condition will not be the same from one to the next, but they all fall within the same category of condition.
