Is Summer Hideaway PROMO applicable to this handgun ?

Called for some specifics since it doesn't say...comes w/1 mag and a hard case.

Also see they have the M&P22C for same price...wish I had seen before I called to get specs on that too...
http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/firearms/22lr-plinker-sale/s-w-m-p22-compact-22lr.html...
Looks like the M&P22C (but not full size) might also come with a free box of ammo...

Temporarily out of stock. My timing is just as good as the PSA sale on the compact version.

I think both the full size and compact size have merit for S&W's customers. I don't think they'll discontinue the full size, but just redo it. If they can make the slide on the compact, they can make a slide on the full sized. The lower on the current full size is made by S&W anyway. By the way, great handgun, love mine. Shoots everything I have put in it, besides a having a few light loads and FTE's on Winchester 333's. Sights are nice on it and are fully adjustable, which is sometimes hard to find on .22 pistols. I picked up 4 extra magazines since I seem to shoot through tons of .22 at the range. My FFL received mine from palmetto in 5 days, FYI.

As I understand it, this model is made by Walther in Germany. The partnership with Walther has now ended. So my guess is this model is being discontinued and replaced with the new US made compact model.

If this model had a threaded barrel I would be "IN" but it doesn't :(

I emailed PSA and they replied that this model does not have a threaded barrel.

They only come with treaded barrels to my knowledge - there is no non threaded model

I have (now) the full size and the compact. Both come with the barrel threaded but you do need to buy the adapter. I love both for different reasons. The full size is a great/cheap platform for trigger time for my M&P core 40 but the compact is now one of the guns I use when I introduce smaller shooters to our favorite past-time. It fits their palms much better.

I have this model and its about a year old. It does have a threaded barrel and I've already got the adapter installed.

M&P22 Compact is the new model. This is the existing full size M&P22

best I can tell this model came out in 2011 and discontinued, the compact is a replacement for this model as it is a different size, therefore not a new model for an existing model. To discontinue a fairly new model is a big red flag for me.....

The full size is still on the S&W site. Could be Palmetto is just running a sale as they do quite often.

no biggy, they will continue to drop in price it's a .22 after all and there's lots of competition for your money, there is also a compact version of this as well. I'd like one, but more in the $230 price range with free shipping

Ugh. I just bought this without free shipping ($17...) from them. It hasn't shipped yet. Any idea what PSA's policy on this is?

I would think they would honor it as most place would to promote good customer service, if they don't you should let us all know we'd be very interested to see how your situation is handled. it would certianly affect my decision on whom to do business with.

I would hope so, especially considering that it sounds like the gun won't even ship for another week or so anyway.

In any case, I emailed them about it, so we shall see. I'll update here if/when they respond.

Verdict is in:

"We caan only go back 24 hours for all credits.

Thank you,"

Happened to me before they will not honor reimbursement on free shipping.

Lol PSA is worse than the DMV.. The only word in their vocabulary is "NO". I remember trying to ship back a defective product, to which they told me return shipping is on me and i would be charged a restocking fee... For as cheap as it was, it was even worth arguing about... I would rather make a youtube video of the product.

Amazing deal on this pistol. If you don't have one consider buying. Excellent trainer and plinker. Shoots just like the 9mm or .40 cal. without the recoil. Also works in many of the same holsters as the 9 or 40.

This is a great pistol. Compared to some of its competitors, this actually feels like a full sized pistol and has the weight of one, too.
For anyone that is looking for a pistol to train with, get a new shooter into the sport, or simply wants something cheap to shoot, this is what you want.
Great price to boot.

Agreed. I have a full-sized M&P 9mm and the 22. The weight and balance is almost exactly the same in hand. Additionally, the M&P 22 is RELIABLE. You don't have to feed it mini-mags (like my Sig Mosquito and P22). It will run on junk golden bullets without issue (other than the 'normal' GB issues that happen no matter what you run them in. Love this gun.

Same here... have the 9mm & this .22, both absolutely flawless guns.
