Why is this deal back up on the front page? Link is broken, "item not found".

Well I guess if the vendor is paying to advertise, they can waste their money on this non-deal posting.

Where is the "deal" ? Isn't this the same like one sold for $519 at KGC?

Exactly

Still 5R rifling and melonite coating on the barrel?

never mind -- I see that's been gone for awhile now on the Sport. alas.

How does this gun compare to the Black Forge from CDNN and the Anderson kit from Wise? They are both on here too.

Well then, that makes me feel a little better. I love the way the psa ar shoots. Not a huge fan of the shiny stainless barrel, but I do like all the magpul furniture it has.

Noooooo. Should have waited and got this instead of my psa ar. Same price pretty much. Especially if it's a meloniteor chrome lined barrel... Oh wells

Actually, the M & P Sport is not chrome lined or melonite treated. The old models, I think 2013 or before, were melonite with 5R rifling in the barrel. Regardless, a very good basic AR from a quality company and a bargain. By the way PSA delivers good quality for the price also, just not backed by a company like Smith & Wesson. So that warranty has value.

Unbelievable. At this price this rifle is an unbelievable bargain. I am dumbfounded by this pricing and have to say "unbelievable" one more time. Another new record low for the "Sport" rifle. We are now seeing a Smith & Wesson AR selling at or below a Glock handgun price. What this says is we are living in a world of oversupply of AR's, where the market is a bargain for the buyer and maybe a fairy tale moment in time for all of us buyers. Smith & Wesson M&P Sport is a absolutely quality rifle, being a no frills entry level AR 15 with superb value. I already own two of these and might own a third now given this value pricing. You will not regret it if you buy it. My "Sports" have been great!

Great gun, but better deal from a reputable seller I have personally dealt with:

Price to high, you can get this at Kentucky Gun Co for a lower price:

Description says it shoots 5.56. Caliber says 223/556. What does this thing shoot?

This rifle is a 5.56, which means it can shoot both 556 and 223

This is not the same barrell that took the hard beating duration test so widely reviewed when it first came out. S&W have replaced the M&P15 Sport’s barrel. The M&P15’s 5R rifling was a 1/8” “gain twist.” The twist starts longer and tightens to 1/8” towards the end of the barrel. The old barrell had hard Melonite coating. It is not clear what the coating iis on the new barrell.

NOW it is 1-9, 4 groove barrel.

Not sure if this makes a difference to you.

At this price point, I think it is a great gun.

New record low price to my knowledge including free shipping. Kentucky Gun Co. has been good to me on prior sales, so they appear to be a solid company. As for the gun, unbelievable value from Smith and Wesson and backed by a great warranty. All around you are hard pressed to find a better AR value coupled with quality and warranty. No bells or whistles on this model, just a great basic gun for the price from a revered manufacturer. I own two of these already. Wish I could justify buying a third.

This is the previous record low from what I've seen they've matched it now let's see of they go below it? Lol I don't need another ar either and the markets flooded I've priced out sweet builds for under 500 but this probably has a better resale value

Actually after checking, Gunbuyer.com is still cheaper by $5 if you are using credit card, since the price posted by Kentucky Gun is cash. I bought one of my Sports from Gunbuyer.com. I agree, lets see if it can go lower, but don't hold your breath. Manufacturers won't keep making guns they can't make money on. Some companies no doubt will be on the way out of this market if not out of business altogether and I can see prices going up.

1 cent less than buds come on price wars! How low can these go?

This isn't quite the best deal recently, but it is VERY close and is the best I can find right now. Here is my question though. There was a mossberg MMR tactical posted for $500 shipped a few weeks ago. I passed because it was from cheaper than dirt. Should I hold out to get that one (Assuming anohter seller posts a similar deal), or buy this one? The MMR has quad rails, a floated barrel, forward assist and a dust cover. I know these S&Ws have been popular, but the MMR at the same price sounds like a better deal. thanks!

This is a much better rifle, and has a lifetime warranty from S&W. This is a pretty good price, maybe it will drop $10- $20 dollars but i would feel good about pulling the trigger at this price; I have 2 of these.

I paid $632 before tax at a local gun store a few years back and I thought that was a good deal then. These are great entry level guns. Can live without the forward assist but would like a dust cover. Great gun that can be modified as time and money allows.

Good grief. I paid almost twice this at the peak of the panic (yes, I am an idiot). I am still very, very pleased with the quality of my S&W M&P Sport but really wish I could've exercised some restraint and waited until the market prices were restored a bit closer to sanity. For what it's worth, these are great rifles. They lack a few amenities but unless you plan to crawl through deep mud with yours you absolutely can't go wrong.

I own three AR's (which obviously does not qualify me as an expert) and have fired all three extensively. My M&P Sport has proven time and again to be a phenomenal choice for the money. At way under $600, it's a steal.

How is this a deal when it is $568 with shipping? Kentucky has it for $539 shipped.

So is there a code or coupon for getting this down to 549.99? Best price I see on this one is $593.99.

Just wondering if there is something I don't see....

Picked one up from firearms4u for 584$ a couple of weeks ago after tons of research. The reviews on youtube were raves for the $$ and I have to say I agree. The quality compares favorably to the Colt M4 I rolled with for 15 months in the sandbox. The fit between the upper and lower is actually tighter on the sport. Mil spec buffer, magnetic particle inspected bolt and magpul flip up rear iron sight all add up to great value. Barrel is 1/9 twist melonite. Which I am fine with. Wouldn't mind a dust cover but I don't really need one. Oh yeah 7 years in the Army and never used the forward assist once. Just my 2 cents.

This is a great rifle and for $549 delivered it is cheaper than a plastic bushy with a better fit and finish. If you want an entry level AR it can't be beat.

I orderd mine on monday and it was in my hands saturday, I am extremely impressed with firearms4u. The rifle is awesome. Very well built, nice looking and has a lifetime warranty. S&W did a phenomenal job with this rifle for under 600.00 its has got to be the best AR deal out there. This model doesnt have the dust cover but unless you intend on taking it into combat in the dessert it really will not matter. It also is void of forward assist but so was the original design of this style rifle, my ffl dealer said in the 10 years he spent in the middle east and all the countless hours of training with this platform he went through he NEVER needed to use forwad assist. He said by the time the rifle is in a condition in which forward assist would be needed it probably wouldnt help anyway. All in all I couldn't be happier.

I paid $750 for mine 6 mos ago - if they go down in price anymore, I'm gonna be embarrassed. The 1st one I ever shot didn't have assist - & the dust cover was there just to give the drill instructor one more thing to bitch at me about.

These used to have the better 5r barrel

I have one of these and it's a damn fine gun. Sure there isn't a dust cover or a forward assist but it's worth every penny that I paid. To be quite honest I almost like if better without the extra because compared to my mil spec rifle it's a lot more compact and lighter.

Paid $649.00 during the panic. At Sportsman's Warehouse. Bought two. Very good rifle. I would buy another if finances would allow. You know it is coming, these will be illegal. Good price, Good rifle.

Backed by S&W warranty...

Cant go wrong for this price unless you can build your own.
PSA has had some really good deals on their uppers with CHF FN barrel.

I built one with spikes lower, MOE furniture and a nice midlength chf upper for about 620

Great deal on a great gun value. If you are on the fence on this one, just buy it!

You won't regret it; the M&P sport is a well built AR, with all the stuff you need and none that you don't. Plus you get a sweet melonite barrel!

This really is one of the best entry level AR's on the market. Sweet shooting, accurate and will fire anything. Unless you are going to be crawling through mud 4 times a day or firing hundreds of Vietnam era rounds on full auto without cleaning, you truly do not need an FA or dust cover.

If you have a thumb, you have a forward assist. Awesome rifle for the money. Wouldn't hesitate to pick one up for range/ personal defense. M&P's chew through any ammo you can throw at them, brass or steel.

I dont always use the parking brake in my truck but I'm glad its there when I need it. Depending on how much you fire or the conditions you find yourself, those 2 items might be needed.
