With the introduction of their M2.0 line of polymer framed, striker fired pistols, Smith & Wesson addressed the one big complaint that gun buyers had about the M&P line: the trigger. As we’ve mentioned in previous reviews of both the full-size and compact

Bought the same one a few year back for 298.00 with 70.00 manufacturer rebate from PSA. Now it's 400+ WTH?

I got this for $240 with taxes included as well as a lower from PSA as a combo deal back in January. The total was around 400. I think it’s a fine EDC but I bought a P365 a month later since it’s better. I like the shield, a bit snappy but fun to shoot.

At this price I would rather buy a Canik or IWI however. You get much more gun for the money. They are reliable and ypu get more bells and whistles for all that cash your gonna have to fork over.

Where you finding new IWI's for $330? I certainly wouldn't call the shield snappy, especially compared to the glock 26.

No where right now, but Caniks are very reasonable priced. Or atleast they were before the Rona Madness set in. Now it’s better to wait for an actual deal.

Can anyone comment on PSA's current shipping situation (orders placed as of 7/1)? Orders placed last week are already shipping, or is it still a month or more before they ship?

I don't think it's a "shipping" situation at this point, it's whether or not anyone can even get gun and ammo in. Most other items seem to be shipping fairly promptly. Overheard my local guy begging to a supplier to get his hands on whatever was available. They've got more used than new at this point. Unfortunately PSA doesn't have great real time stock integration on their website, so good luck there. Midway on the other hand has much better integration, but usually at a premium. Placed order last night, shipped at 4am, supposed to arrive tomorrow.

Half of these guys commenting are a bunch of Pansies. If you can't handle a 9mm and need to change parts just to make it a gun for Wimps, you need to step away from the keyboard and go to the gym. Better yet, learn to properly handle a firearm and practice.

That's going to be super funny in 30 years. Some adjustments are necessary for seniors and some young ladies to facilitate proper handling in emergencies. It's your lack of experience that leads to that level of arrogance and cluelessness.

0 votes

It's a tiny little compact and if it requires adjustment to fit your hand or to 'tone down that wild cartridge' that is the funny shit.
Seniors learned how to fire real weapons before these little fluff pistols came into vogue, young ladies is the target market for a pistol like this.
You 'BiggusDickus' are obviously either very sorely lacking in endowment or are 12 years old to use a *nick* like the one you have chosen.
A little arrogance might help you a smidgeon....maybe.

This is by no means a difficult gun, but I'm not sure why someone would be shitting on trigger improvements. The EZ series is definitely targeted at lady seniors, I've recommended it to all the ladies in my extended family that are 70+. The younger ones should be able to rack this no problem once broken in.

You’re family sounds old as dirt. How many 70+ ladies are there? Did you count yourself?

You apparently don't know what extended family means. I guess you can't extend much when you inbreed.

I'm also thinking that ltb69 misses the irony in his name, if he's t-baggin while 69, does he not also have cock in the face?

Stay safe. Don’t let the corona bite. I’ll pray for your ancient bloodline in this difficult time

Wow! Just last year this same pistol was selling for $250! I hate what panic buying is doing to gun and ammo prices.

And just know for a fact that the manufacturers supplying the firearms are charging the same price. All these jackasses are alike. Screw the customer if you can. F them!

Do not buy a firearm from PSA. They deduct from your account right away but won’t ship your firearm for more than a month. Emailing customer service only gets you an automated response asking you to wait longer and good luck getting them on the phone. Terrible terms from a bad company, look elsewhere. I am trying to let as many people know about my experience so potential victims don’t suffer the same fate

they are super hit or miss. I've ordered a bunch of lowers from them. Sometimes they ship in a couple days, sometimes they ship a month later.

Their customer service was terrible a few years ago but they got better from so many complaints. Now, like all the rest, they have the covid excuse. They say 7 days longer than usual. The problem is the "usual". As mentioned, a week, two weeks, three weeks, who the F knows?

Ordered an SKS and it was in my hands a little over a week later.

Don't mind him, he's just butt hurt because he doesn't understand supply and demand. Considering the shield is one of the most popular subcompacts, one shouldn't be surprised of major delays when gun sales are up almost 2x from last year.

F supply and demand. I bought my sh*t before these clowns all jacked up their prices where only desperate people buy! The manufacturers prices are the same. The crooks are jacking it up to take advantage!

Dude, take chill pill or they might revoke your NICS. Welcome to the current normal. Guns and ammo were cheap and plentiful since basically '04, many of us took advantage. Now, the gun Sahara has run dry. Pay the price, or vote your way back. Cursing the commerce gods will do you nothing.

I mean, you could always build your own arms empire and show how it's done. Be glad to take vegas odds against that.

The original shield is fine as the changes to make the 2.0 aren’t that significant. Makes a great gun slightly better. The problem with this “deal” is before Covid and leftist rioting these were $249 all day. Also add a Hogue grip. Welcome!

The Performance Shield is even better. Bought it last Christmas at $377 with a $50 rebate from S&W. The upgraded trigger, sights and ported barrel make a good shooting gun even better. I was able to sell my original Shield for $300 so this was a sweet deal for me.

The 2.0 trigger is worth the price difference for anyone that actually cares about trigger feel. Anyone that doesn't care should just cheap out and get a tarus g2c.

Not a deal. PSA now has the 2.0 for $299 for Memorial Day. Spend the extra 10 bucks

Because all factory triggers suck. Get either and put in the kit from Apex. Do not swap out the factory trigger return spring* because the one in the carry kit returns the pull to factory weight (nicer but still heavy). If you do this, you end up with a decent pull that makes you laugh at all the tools saying Walther has a “great” trigger.

*If you have a MA compliant model, the only difference is in the trigger return spring. Call S&W and they’ll send you a free state spring.

Thanks for watching my TED talk.

The apex kit is $159! Upgrade if you want but I’d rather buy ammo and mags. Especially in the times we are living in. Not to mention it’s almost as much as another gun.

Oh and you’re giving ammo to any attorney. You modified your gun and they’ll blame that in a second. Keep it stock and just train more.

I believe it is still in production, s&w only lists the first gen 9c as no longer produced. As to why? I don't have a good idea other than offering retailers a budget option and they still have the tooling. The trigger is probably the worst part of the 1.0, which is why I ended up going with the PC. The porting and sights are great, but came at a premium that I don't know that I'd pay for again with a better stock trigger. At least in a subcompact.

Ya, I'm curious why so many 1.0 pistols are still being made/sold.

It's a solid pistol, but the 2.0 has a significant upgrade in the trigger which is worth the price. Also prefer the 8rd mag for my hand size.

I think I seen one for around $248. I don’t think you can go wrong with a M & P even if you MUTED it with a suppressor. 8-))

There's the Taurus PT111 G2 on sale right now for $155 after MIB. In everyone's humble opinion, which do you prefer? This S&W Shield or the Taurus G2?

Taurus is trying to crawl back from a terrible reputation. Id stick Taurus and Hi-point in the same category. Not the Shield.
