Well... I have 3 of these now... I'm a sucker for a good deal! This one is going to straight to the chop shop and getting modded to the hilt.
At this price you cannot have too many. Still like the deal at Gunbuyer better. For $25 more you get 2 extra 8 round mags.

Brownell's charges sales tax, don't think Whittaker does. And good luck getting all 37 Brownell's codes to stack and work. Shame, as I want to support the guys but they are just flat out hard to do business with.

It is being said that the Springfield 4 magazine rebates were hurting sales. Very good deal on these (9mm and 45). If I didn't have 3 Springfields and a Glock 21, I might bite.
It takes them about 7 days to process your order to be shipped. Shipping was 2 days air to my FFl. $329 was a good deal and Free shipping.

Amazing prices but terrible service. All phones numbers have not worked for weeks. Sent 8 emails with 0 response. Finally got my gun in 3 weeks but not worth the headache. Find a business that you can actually communicate with in case there are any issues.
Look again, it is $329.99 with free shipping using code 9MM. This price matches or beats the LE discount S&W gives first responders.

But imo, it comes down to training. "Point of failure" on having a safety usually means the person didn't have the proper training with a safety model weapon, just as someone who has an accident with non safety model. Each has its goods and bads but I agree that training is what it comes down too after choosing whether or not you prefer a manual safety.
Bravo. Train with a manual safety and its just natural to use. I still try and flip non-existent safeties off on guns without them. Just ingrained. Additionally, when that one distracted moment happens, maybe when you take the gun out to grab a quick shower, or that kid reaches into his mother's purse at the grocery store sitting in the cart, or you left that dang gun accidentally on your nightstand rushing to work or a meeting,or that gun slides out from beneath the seat of your car to the backseat, or when the kid wiggles out of their car seat and finds a handgun in the counsel... it won't go bang for them. Every scenario I layed out, and many more, has happened multiple times. Never mind that a safety adds a lot of protection to you as the gunowner if you train with it. It's all about protecting the family and yourself. Manual safeties can and do save lives.

You are talking about purchasing a firearm online. That whole complicated ffl thing has to get on file. But once it is you can be like me & have your shiny new toy in less than a week nowadays.
Imo, I'd rather have the safety model for carrying locked and loaded. Especially carrying concealed.
Most (not all) people see a manual safety on a carry pistol as another point of failure. Whether it's a mechanical issue or human error, it's just one more thing that could go wrong. A good holster and proper trigger discipline will go a long way towards not having an AD.
I've always preferred no safety, but with many buildings and establishments restricting CC often the only legal option is to unholster, securely store, and then upon returning re-holster a handgun while sitting in a vehicle. Possibly while dealing with children or unknown individuals around the car watching. A misguided safety measure that just makes things more dangerous. Ive practiced re-holstering in the car out of concern, but now thinking I may just prefer a safety on a future EDC gun and adjust training so I don't have to worry about it. As it is now I usually just ignore any CC restrictions. Illegal yes, but at least I'm a safety conscious criminal.
Kygunco still has this gun (shield 9 mm) for 362.99 shipped. This is one of the best deals that I have seen for this gun, apart from LE offers. Help me understand why this item is still in stock. Are the gun.deals users waiting for yet a better deal? Or does kygunco have a large inventory of this firearm?
That's what I'm wondering as well. As of 6/1/14, they still have the 9mm Shield in stock at a price lower than any other reputable online dealer - to my knowledge at least. Maybe people are unaware of the price because they require you to add the item to your cart first prior to seeing the discounted price.
Not a bad deal, however, Kentucky Gun Co. is selling the Shield in 9mm at a cash price of $362.99 (add 3% if using a credit card). Plus, they're offering free shipping as well.
Although PSA initially prices theirs lower at $359.99, it's a bit more expensive when you calculate $17 shipping (to my state at least).
I recently ordered from the Kentucky Gun Co. and chose to pay with plastic so it came to be $373.88 total. I'm not sure if PSA charges credit card fees. Assuming they don't, their total would be $376.99.
Either way, I think Kentucky Gun Co. would be your best bet if you're in the market for a new Shield.
