With the introduction of their M2.0 line of polymer framed, striker fired pistols, Smith & Wesson addressed the one big complaint that gun buyers had about the M&P line: the trigger. As we’ve mentioned in previous reviews of both the full-size and compact

Resurrecting the RSA issue, does this affect the 45?

Yes, due to a single spring and smoother action, racking is easier with the upgraded RSA

I like my shield but be prepared to replace the recoil spring assembly. They have a flawless that after a few hundred rounds they tend to stretch and slide over and off the end of the guide rod. It's a very common problem. I replaced mine with an aftermarket single spring stainless steel assembly and it is great

RSA defects don't occur in all Shields, but enough have occurred that it has become perceived as a weak point in an otherwise exemplary design. I've had no problem with my 9mm. The fact is S&W will replace suspect RSA's for free, but frankly they could have been more proactive in dealing with this issue. By the way, some people report the aftermarket stainless steel assembly makes the slide easier to rack--is that your experience?

@deerslug, The one you have is also from Kentucky Guns? It has the safety right?

Mine is from KY Gunco but without the safety. With or without its an excellent gun relative to what you're paying. I also have the MP Bodyguard with a safety. The safeties on both guns are such that you couldn't accidentally engage them while carrying concealed. To me its a non-issue.

Great deal on a great American gun

Mine came with an issue. Frequent FTEs in the first 100 rounds so I sent it back to S&W. They polished the chamber and feed ramp and returned it 1 week later. About 500 rounds later the gun runs flawlessly. I think now I can trust it as my EDC. I shoot this gun better than any other. This gun is a greater value than others that cost $200 more. At $319 shipped, buy it.

Great conceal carry weapon. Carry one everyday. Extremely reliable and fairly accurate for the length. Most of all its very comfortable and easy to carry everyday. Folks at KGC are great too. Good buy here with free shipping.

Tbf, neither the description here or the site are specific which versions it is. Referenced product#SMT-180021 on S&W's site to confirm... You did bother to actually read it before just insulting random people on the internet, right?
Anyway, as I said before this listing was probably posted several years ago before the 'no safety' version was available.

It would appear so. It's possible this listing from a couple years ago predates the No Safety version, so they didn't mention it.

That's customer service right there. Does t get much better than this deal. Bought from PSA last month and is a great shooter. Not one hiccup.

It is a good price. To think that a year ago, this was selling out at over $450.

now, if people would stop stockpiling .22lr ....lol

An excellent gun at an incredible price. I really like the customer service at Kentucky Gun Co. I had purchased this gun under a week ago when they had it priced at $362.99. When I saw this deal, I gave them a call to see if they'd be willing to refund the difference. Although they weren't obligated to and the pistol had already shipped out, they readily accepted. I look forward to doing business with them again soon.
