Purchased the bodyguard from Smoky Mtn on Thursday, and was shooting today (Wednesday). Very impressed with this little pocket gun. Ran 150rds of Remington 95gr fmj then shot another 50rds of Tulammo 91gr with no issues whatsoever. I'm not going to complain about the trigger pull. Like anything else, with a little practice you adapt to it.

No don't buy this gun. The Trigger Pull weight is RIDICULOUSLY heavy!! On a good day, expect 8” groups at 7 yards. You won’t get any better.
If you want a very good pocket pistol in .380, buy the Ruger LCP Custom – Hands down the Ruger LCP Custom is a much better, more shoot-able, $100 less expensive gun than this POS gun.
Oh and don’t waste $100 on a Galloway precision trigger kit for this thing hoping to fix it – the guns still sucks – you will just be $100 poorer and still have a POS pistol. Ask me how I know.
This is perhaps the most disappointing gun I have ever purchased.
You have been warned. Don’t buy this gun.

Is this pistol any good?

Great little gun. Well built. Got one for my girlfriend and she has no problem with the trigger or accuracy. It does what it was designed to do. If you are use to s/a triggers this will be different, more like a revolver d/a. If you want a true pocket gun this is the best for the money. I ordered the thumb lock model. S&W has great service and support and at $249 you get a great deal

Yep. Light, small, nothing crazy sharp or protruding to snag. Mine, and a very high percentage of them in general, are very reliable, plenty accurate, etc. S&W doesn't make junk.

Are you able to adjust the slide to be easier to rack back? My 79 year old grand mother could not rack this back when we looked at it in the gun shop. She currently has a Remington rm 380 and the trigger is horrible. Any input is appreciated.

Not to my knowledge, although it gets far easier to rack the action after a few hundred rounds. My wife is tiny, and she carries this gun and can rack it easily. However, if i were in your shoes, I'd be looking into a revolver like a smith and wesson featherweight .38

You do not want this gun!
Before you waste $300 find an owner that actually *likes* this gun. This is the most inaccurate unshootable POS I own. I even spent $100 for a Galloway precision trigger and it made very little difference. Hands-down one of the worst purchases I've ever made. It has something like a 12 pound trigger pull and the trigger travel is at least 2 inches but it feels like 4 inches. If you want to buy great 380 buy a Ruger LCP custom. But don't waste your $$ on this POS.

Well you found another happy owner here. After 5 years running an original BG380 with laser, I’m still satisfied & very confident in mine for warm weather or backup carry. The rant posted here by “I luv AKs” is hysterical nonsense. The long, double-action factory trigger is smooth & controllable and is most appropriate for a pocket-sized gun. It’s not a target pistol but can be surprisingly accurate for its size…if you can’t shoot one accurately with a little practice, it’s your problem.

I have 3 of these and have several friends that do as well. They're far superior to the custom LCP imo and in many (I dare say most) others'. Do your research before you post false info on the www. And sorry buddy, but two minutes of research would have told you that the trigger you chose wouldn't do a lot of good in this style firearm.
This firearm is a great purchase, accurate, and reliable.
