I have the 442 Pro. The moon clips are nice, but I don't use them for carry because of possible bending causing a jam. You don't have to use the moon clips. This is great price. My 442 Pro cost $70 more than this 2 years ago. This is about the same price as the standard 642 offered to Law Enforcement at a substantial discount over retail.
I presume the moon clips are used w/ 9mmP ammo? No extractor cuts for the moon clip to clip into on 38Spc...
Great revolver and a great price for someone who wants this type of pistol. Be advised though, that even shooting .38 special and not the +P rounds the light weight of this gun means it will kick, so plan on practicing a lot at first to get your wrist used to it.
Awesome deal, sweet revolver and good company! Perfect package
This is a good deal.. I got one last week, and was at m FFL in two days, maybe three. The trigger is not nearly as bad as I thought it would be, and it's easy to stage, although this is really for close SD. I might add a Crimson Trace grip, but I'll need more range time in first, before I decide. The little snubby looks and feels good, and I have x-large hands. YMMV.
I know B@@@ has a 442 pc for $400, but I don't lihe the dealer, and I've found too many spotty reports on that particular weapon...seems like the current 442 PC is a toss up, so I went with this.
If you're going to use moon clips, I'd suggest getting a tool, because you don't want to bend the thin clip and have it bind up at the worst possible time, but hopefully you'll never need it, except at the range.
? CAN I SHOOT 357 MAG ROUNDS ON THIS 38SPL ????
No .357mag, just .38SP and +P rounds, both of which are just fine for a pocket carry pistol.
Also I will vote this down because it doesn't do my laundry.
I'm an expert, started out carrying a snubby in 1973. If you like to shoot, you should get one. They are little hand cannons compared to todays 9mm Hi-Cap guns, but we didn't know any different back then. And they can stop just about any situation, and did for 50+ years. A 357 mag out of a gun this light will hurt your hand, but in a life and death situation, you really won't know the difference because of the adrennaline. But this gun is a +P , and that coming out of a short barrel like this is just about as powerful as a 357, Maybe 100 fps difference, unless you shoot the good stuff, then get a heavier frame like a K frame, not a J frame, even the 686 kicks like a mother. You need a really heavy gun to calm down a 357 running at 1400-1500 FPS which is what you can buy for these guns, vs 800 from a 38 with decent loads..
