Description

Smith & Wesson Model 10-8 Police Turn-In Revolvers 38 Spl 4" Blued Heavy Barrel - 6 Round. Surplus Good - This batch of revolvers caused quite a stir here at Classic and there is no wonder why. You don't see many batches of Model 10's coming to the open market anymore and we were pleased as punch to be able to acquire these.

Also known as the M&P Model 10, this fantastic batch of timeless revolvers were re-imported after serving their time overseas as that countries official police sidearm. They are all either Model 10-6's or Model 10-8's ( This sku is the Model 10-8 ) and even though we are selling them under 2 different sku's the the differences between the 2 models are so minute that you can really make no real visual distinction between them. The primary difference in the Model 10-8 is that for this model Smith and Wesson moved the gas ring location from the crane (the swinging arm that holds the cylinder) to the cylinder itself and eliminated the barrel pin. We can't tell any practical or functional differences otherwise and again they look virtually the same. Conditions do vary slightly across both models from gun to gun in terms of carry wear but they are all solid NRA Good Surplus condition with Hand Select bringing you closer to Very Good.

Note - The 10-8's do represent a slightly newer generation as far as the model 10 is concerned and as such may be in slightly better cosmetic condition overall that the 10-6's. Of course on an individual level all of the guns will still vary.

This is a great price and you do not want to hesitate- these are sure to go quickly!

The S&W .38 Hand Ejector, fixed sight service revolver has, in one form or another, been a best seller in the S&W revolver line since 1899.

The Military and Police tag was added immediately after the gun's introduction, as a result of an 1899 order from the U.S. military for thousands of Smith & Wesson's new revolvers in the then U.S. service standard .38 Long Colt caliber.

The Model 10 designation was introduced in 1957/1958, after which the revolver became known as the ".38 Military & Police Model 10," the designation used by the gun industry and practically everyone else until 2010. Whatever it is called, this .38 Special, fixed sight revolver is the most popular in history, with over 6,000,000 sold and production continuing today.

Saw 2 of these at my local FFL that were purchased from Classic Firearms. They were both rusted and pitted junk. The "good" condition rating is way over exaggerated. The 2 I saw were in very "poor" condition.

Took 22 days to get a pistol from them recently. But they had charged my card the day I ordered.

I never seem to hear anything good about this place.

This looks like Barney Fife’s piece.

Hahaha! They should sell it with one single round of ammo and call it “The Fife Edition”
