They all come with factory S&W rubber grips, 6-shot cylinder, adjustable rear sight and orange front post sight and factory S&W box.

These are from a State Department of Corrections. Finally switched to a Glock!
Are these round or square butt revolvers? They look square but I wasn't sure if it was just because of the grip.
Thanks for the information. I usually find that non-patrol LEOs have some of the best condition trade-ins.
It looks like Recoil Gunworks also has some Model 66s (K-frame) for twenty dollar less than these 686 (L-frame). The 66 is a better of a choice for concealment, but the 686 will certainly hold up more to hot 357 loads and is a much better range gun overall.
Anyone have any idea what police force was recently issuing 686s, since this variant came out after 2001?
